Recruitment should be looking for 22-23 year old backrowers looking for opportunities like Hopgood.

Talented former bad boy Kenny Edwards wants to rejoin the Eels in 2023 - but the potential move has split the club.

After losing the nucleus of their forward pack to rival clubs for next year, the coaching and playing group want the 32-year-old back-rower back on board.

Sure did. Good game but another finals loss. He put a lock in at hooker which was a disaster of a move. Similar brain explosion to when he put Dylan at Centre so he can accomodate his son.

I look back to that 2018 season and why were we so bad and you only have to look at the squad & culture was created by having players with questionable off-field discipline issues & dramas.

We had Jarryd Hayne, Corey Norman, Kirisome Auva'a, Kenny Edwards, Tony Williams, Michael Jennings.

We cleaned all of them out after 2018 except Jenko who ended up falling on his sword 2 years later at the worst possible time.

But since that clean out the club has been strong on & off the field with not many issues mostly.

I seriously believe the people in charge couldn't give a shit if we win a GF, as long as we are competitive and they sell enough memberships to a loyal fanbase that makes the club profitable.
