I know plenty of friends who turn down bette praying jobs cause they can live they lifestyle they like with what earn and are happy. I'm unsure why everyone think that all individuals will just change for extra money. I know heaps of sparkys who could get an extra 20k a year but don't.
Yeah but who would want to be a priest ffs

It's nor really the same, though - they'd be earning an extra $20,000 a year, but they would be putting in extra work to get that extra $20,000.

Football players' jobs don't change - if they get the opportunity to make an extra $50,000, for doing the same job, why wouldn't they take it?

Ditto most of us mere mortals - if someone offered us $20,000 a year more for doing exactly the same job we are doing now, who wouldn't take it?

Considerations - Friends, Boss, distance, environment.
These are all comparable in a job and a footy club.

And if you are at a good strong club then it certainly would be easier. Winning vs losing is a huge mental boost. Imagine training all week o ly to get belted.

If that were true, fewer players would chase big pay days at crappy clubs...

Let's say you owned your own house and mortgage free and are taking home $1600 a week. Do you change it all up to take home $1850 when you live off $1,000 comfortably

If nothing changed- except me taking home more money - bloody oath I would.

I can leave more to my family when I die, I can help people in need more comfortably...

If I would get paid more for doing exactly what I'm doing now, of course I'd take it.

Yeh, I think it obviously depends a lot on what your current income is and what commitments you have...and on how much your job require you to work with and rely on other people to get your job done well. If you are in a job where you are going to look and feel like shit if others in the team are having a laugh, then working with a good team / boss makes a lot of sense in the long run....coz you'll do better. And of course, if earning more $$ also requires you to live somewhere where the cost of living is a lot higher, or simply to pull up sticks and move and absorb the costs that go along with that, that has to be considered too.

Their actual job remains exactly the same, though.

A lot of players from differing clubs know each other, a d hang out already.

And a lot of players don't relocate, they simply commute.

Lol. Yes. And so does many others. Like you may be a sales rep, electrician, Store manager. And take another job at a different site, company and get more money and have a better or worse job.
