I watched a lot of their games and became friends with a few well connected raiders fans when I lived down there. Hodgson and Stuart clashed, like Stuart does with a lot of his halves. I wouldn't read too much into him leaving.

I think Des is a good coach and I'd like to see what he could do with our squad, but seemingly where he falls down is he puts a lot of conditions in place when he agrees to coach somewhere insisting he has full control of recruitment, retention and the cap behind all of that and that has been where the Dogs and Manly have found themselves in strife at the tail end of his tenure at both clubs... It's a bit of an antiquated model he operates in, that doesn't quite factor in the confines of a salary cap that you need to.... He'd be better off at the Roosters in that case!!!
I thought he was average, I thought he struggled with the new faster game and overplayed his hand quite a bit. The Raiders forum was very critical of his style of play and that the new game didn’t seem to suit him. Stuart clashes with Hodgson over the half wanting to leave, but let’s face it Stuart would clash with an empty room.
