Would this had been leaked if Jake wasn't playing tomorrow and his position in the team wasn't a point of discussion.
Absolutely freaking not.... And as has been mentioned, if this was strictly about junior footy and pathways, then the same nepotism would exist across all 16 NRL clubs.

This has been leaked to destabilise for some unknown reason on the eve of a final knowing JA is in the team and folks are going to put 2 and 2 together and come up with hate!!

Which makes one wonder. Gee I hope the kid holds his own but its looking more likely he will be a bench sitter all night. Or. He could be the very last interchange BA ever makes.
Interesting times.
Cant wait for tomorrow night. Good weather, a sell out and pre game drama. Anybody going back to the club after to do the TCT after game thingy?
Depends on the result.

If we lose the leagues club would be last place I would want to be i reckon.

It could get feral as frustrations boil over.

So why do we need a back up half on the bench?

Do you classify JA as a back up? He shouldn’t even be in NSW cup.

why are there no other halves in the lower grades?

Well, that MIGHT be able to be attributed to nepotism.

I don't agree with the philosophy of carrying a half on the bench, but I can understand it - Moses suffered a pretty nasty blow to the head; it's a contingency in case he gets worse.

I do agree that Jake is not of First Grade standard yet, and that is on Brad's shoulders to wear the blame for.

Him being the only back up half in the squad is another story and it's called nepotism.

I can't necessarily say I disagree...

I think it's pretty clear for anyone to see that Jakob is a little off the pace of First Grade; I think we should have looked at another back-up half, while allowing Jakob to continue to develop in the 2's.

Have we signed Jack Murchie? Just a guess as article is paywalled:

South coast junior from Gerringong, Cronin country…
EELS CIRCLING WARRIOR
The Eels are closing in on Warriors forward Jack Murchie for next season. Murchie had attracted interest from St George Illawarra but he is now likely to join Parramatta.
The Warriors were also keen on keeping the 25-year-old but he was keen to return to NSW. He made his NRL debut for the Raiders in 2018 and was one of the Warriors’ most consistent performers this year playing 14 matches.
The Eels have added Josh Hodgson, J’maine Hopgood and Jirah Momoisea for next season.

Murchie, Lane, Hopgood, Matto not a bad combination for the backrow/lock positions.

Squad isn't that bad next year tbh.

Lane & matto keep there form up.

Hopgood and Murchie are basically replacing Papali'i and niukore.

Just need hodgson to somehow stay fit.

Whoever is coaching us next year should get that squad to the finals.

He's still just 19, there was nothing wrong with him learning his trade in 2nds. And earning his spot, which he hasn't IMO.

Murchie is an average safe player, a Bea Arthur bargain bin job.
