Yep. It's been well documented clubs and players are holding off on signing contracts, awaiting clarity on the cap for coming years. Yet, a nrl run club can poach a promising kid on huge coin. Everyone wants to see a struggling club strengthen their roster, but who's to say with some clarity the cowboys couldn't of kept him.

I wouldn't write hunt off for 2017 yet, wait and see what happens with Napa, Napa is looking for a release to be closer to Family, if the roosters say no i'm sure his manager will use the old "Compassionate Grounds" tag and they will feel like the have to let him go. Then we can take hunt off the Broncos hands a year early. I mean Bennett didn't really sign Benji to play in the centres he signed him to play in the halves til they can target someone else the following year. Benji's defense can't handle centre.

Broncos are serial offenders in getting players to break their contracts, Barba and Milford, both had sick fathers. Apparently Barba's father became better the minute Broncos showed him the door. Now Napa is homesick...really? WTF!!! Something stinks in Bronco land and the NRL does nothing about it, never has never will as long as News Ltd has anything to do with them!!!

that was only a pissy little bit of the article ..... seriously - 700K a year is nothing amazing under the current cap, you don't have to be a genius to know it will be fine within the cap - and its only gonna go up .... the only amazing part is that it is being spent on a youngster with no nrl experience

Won't blow their cap out and it certainly won't strengthen it but I do believe the article talks a lot of sense. A bit the same as the Titans signing Proctor. To suggest that the NRL knowledge regarding the apparent rise in the salary cap helped in negotiations isn't really far fetched.

Just a hypothetical. So rumours say Parra could get Hunt but what if Gutho and the Fog become genuine first graders at half what does BA do? And say Barnes also becomes a star they suddenly have an embarrassment of riches. For the first time in their history they could have 5 genuine halves (incl Norman). Yeah he wants to play in the halves. He'll have a lot of support and he looks like he has a stable environment that will allow him to achieve what he wants.

All depends on what BA wants to do. I'd say we'd go with the stronger defender and the best value for money, there is also the option of moving Gutherson to the centres.
