Yeah I wasn’t keen on him. Now he’ll no doubt he banned from the NRL anyway.

he’s dating one of our nrlw girls. Met her on Monday morning at the fan day, absolute stunner. He must have something going for him looking at the girls he pulls for someone who seems to be an out and out flog

Its beautiful here King. 😁
I know how you feel.

I spent 3 weeks travelling around America in June/July without a drop of rain perfect 30 plus every day across the southern part from LA to Miami until the 2nd last stop in Orlando. Only copped an heavy afternoon thunderstorm for an hour at universal studios.

That was it.

While Sydney copped flooding for 2 of the weeks while I was away.

Very interesting signing tbh.

Why would we sign him now, as he’s already signed for 2023? Were we concerned clubs will offer him a deal, come November? I highly doubt he was ever going to leave, due to a number of reasons.

if the club thinks he has potential why only sign him for a further 12 months? You’d think a 19 yo playing regular grade in a key position would be seen as a long term prospect.

or is he signed till 24 to coincide with ba’s contract here?

We have our main two halves currently about to enter the open market. Why are we signing the likes of ja before sorting out Moses and Nrown?

I'd hazard a guess that it's most likely because he would be cheap, and so if we lose Dylan, or Mitch, or both, we have a player in Jake that has First Grade experience.

I know he's on the nose, but retaining him is astute, imo.

Now - on to keeping Dylan, and Moses.

Perfect for BA.

All of them aren't any threat to take over any head coaching roles just the way BA likes it.
  • Name: Steve Antonelli
  • Position: Head Coach – NSW Coach
  • Coaching Record: Senior NRL Assistant Coach – Bulldogs (2018-20), NRL Assistant Coach – Raiders (2014-17), Head Coach NSW Cup – Mounties (2013-17)
  • Playing Record: First grade squad – Western Suburbs Magpies (1988-90), Five first grade games for Penrith Panthers (1985-88), NSW under 18s (1985), City under 18s (1985), Australian Schoolboys Rugby Union (1984), Australian Schoolboys under 17s Rugby Union (1983)

I can honestly say I have never heard of Murchie until the last few weeks so I reserve judgement. Same situation as Papali'i but a big difference is age. Murchie is 25 not 21 so the chances of him exploding to a top shelf 2nd rower might be less likely.
Based on stats however he seems a better defender then Papali'i. No idea what his run games like.

I won't get excited until see a bit of him play. If both him and Hopgood shine it shows signs that we are able to find guys for positions that need filling at a cheap price. It would of happened to many times not to trust the process somI find this quite interesting. If both flop then you may think we are just throwing darts.

I think we need a powerfull winger and have to try and offload Waqa. Simmonson atleast gives 100% and has more improvement left and half the cost.
Also another centre should be priority.
Lane was 24 when he joined us in 18/19 off season.

I think murchie has similar potential once put in a decent system.

He was a dangerous hole runner for the warriors and scored a fair few tries off Shaun Johnson.

And you can't judge his defence over there the system is completely broken.

Not a bad resume.

I met Steve once during covid when he was looking for part time work due to the coaches not being paid in that 2 month period when the NRL shut down and he spent a few weeks with the company I work for to keep the money ticking over.

He has no ambition to be a head coach in Top Grade.

Just saw an article about Curtis scott.

One of the incidents he was charged with happened on the night of the 2018 GF.

Exact same night the Jarryd Hayne incident happened.

Who would have thought the Storm v Roosters GF would sent many footballers into a rage & create stupidity.

I havent read much detail but I'd be fine with signing him so long as he is an excellent player (fast would be good) and as long as he is matured. Lots of our players have minor indiscretions.

I like the signings

Lane - pretty long tho. 4 more years

Murchie - i saw him play a game for the warriors about 18 months ago and thought he seemed a goer

Russell - hope he develops. I thought he went well. Surprised hasnt got another chance ... mind you he is a dirty hip dropper

Jarther - good re-signing just for the entertainment value of watching merkins crack the shits

Laney will be shit again when a couple of offloads don't come off.
It is fun having Jake but I'm WTF at the year extension. Just why?

Likewise with your synopsis of the Lane signing, I think all the blokes we've got long term were signed at least 1 year too many, especially given their age. Matto for 4 years looks dumber by the day, Lane needs to show consistency, Jnr I can almost wear it, but 1 less year or an option either side in the clubs favour would have been preferable. RCG is the one I like so far, he's locked in long term but took his game to greater heights this year. If he can maintain that level for 2 more seasons that would be ace... Gutho is probably a year too long...

Drown and Moses need the long term investment, not some of the aforementioned other blokes...
