Whilst Jake might be next 7 off the rank, that does not mean that his place is set in stone. We have a young chap by the name of Ethan Sanders who will get a peak at NSW Cup this year. We also have 5/8 Blaize Talagi who is already on a Development Contract. Plus DJ Asi (is it true his nickname is Mustard ?) who looks a very promising 5/8.

Rankin played multiple positions in 2022. So I don't know why you conclude that he will play in the halves.

What makes you think that Jake has a mortgage on the halfback position in NSW Cup ? I know that merkins love to play conspiracy theory, but he's hardly had any competition. It's been said many times that Rankin knocked back the opportunity to play up a number of times. Prior to Jake we have played Rankin, Joey Lussick and Jai Field as 7 with very mixed results.

Meanwhile it's obvious that Ethan Sanders and Blaize Talagi are being accelerated through the grades. Do you really think that nepotism (Jake) will block their next step up ? Ethan and Blaize have been in the emerging blues camps for two (?) years in a row.
