Nope. I remember that Waqa Blake has been abysmal for us since we signed him, except for a brief period in 2021 when he reached something resembling first grade form. He was so bad in defence that our halves had to swap sides. And now, after being tried in the centres (and found wanting), he has been tried on the wing (and can't catch a ball).
Opacic, on the other hand, has been very solid in defence and reliable in attack. His attack has been quite underrated, and improved during the later stages of his tenure with us.

I think there is a bit of revisionist history going on in this subject but in terms of value for money I have to agree that Opacic is streets ahead. Especially when you consider what centre has come to be these days, which is mostly defence. And although he didn't tear apart defences with his running the way Blake very occasionally did, his link work probably worked nearly as well. So given the disparity in pay, Blake should probably have been dropped to encourage him to find another club, because that's the way things work apparently.

There were at least four outside backs preferred to Opacic in round one, plus probably Sivo, who was unavailable. But in light of Opacic being picked for the Raiders final, and Simonsson replacing him for the next two games, it’s fair to say that round one selections are irrelevant.
