Honestly think they'll go well. Their bench is strong
  1. Staines
  2. Maumalo
  3. To’a
  4. Naden
  5. Nofaluma
  6. Doueihi
  7. Brooks
  8. Klemmer
  9. Koroisau
  10. Ofahengaue
  11. Papali’i
  12. Bateman
  13. Brown
  14. Laurie
  15. Twal
  16. Pole
  17. Utoikmanu
Definitely capable of top 8. Only question mark is their backs and brooks stepping up

Backs are terrible.

If Laurie is on the bench I doubt he is staying at the club post 2023.

Doueihi reminds me of Matterson when he played in the halves. IE he isn’t one. The sooner he realises that he is a lock the better.
Matterson never had 17 try assists in a season playing in the halves…..Doueihi is a quality half and wouId be a star in a top 4 side with a good attitude. There is a reason both the Storm and Roosters both had cracks at him…

Why would you go to the Tigers if both of those sides wanted you. I know the money but his value has dropped since joining the Tigers.

He could have gone to Roosters or Storm increased his value and game play then joined a team on the rise for some good coin.

He will be in Super League after his contract at tigers ends.

What about my post on the 23rd of May?
I like the Hodgson signing. If he can remain relatively injury free, he can transform this side into Premiers. But I absolutely agree with you about a back up hooker. It's a real gamble. And one we really shouldn't need to make. For example, why purchase Tapau rather than a young back up hooker? It doesn't make sense, does it?
We have a bunch of backup hookers. If you don't like the quality of them, have a think about how many clubs can keep two NRL quality dummy halves on the books. Even the ones who do manage it eventually have to lose one to a club that has more need for him.

Rein
Arthur
Hands
Yates

I don't think you'll find too many clubs with more depth than this.

Don’t think he will have any issues getting another NRL contract if he has a reasonable expectation of his value….

If he has another season like he did this year his value will have dropped alot and most teams won't be willing to take a chance on a player that hasn't developed in the halves.

He only played 11 games on the back of a long injury rehab. He was killing it when he injured his ACL in August 2021. He'll be much better for a full pre-season.

Can we do a search on the forums for the words, much better for a full pre-season? Very sure it gets used a fair bit by Pou.

But I agree he is a good player but went to a shit club chasing the early $$$ He needed to establish himself as a top line half at another club where his game would have developed.

I doubt Staines would go there if he wasn't guaranteed a starting spot. I just have the feeling Staines will be fullback

Probably but Laurie is a much better prospect and the Tigers are going to lose him if they think Staines is the better Choice.

Do we want Moses to just take his option? I’m thinking, yes. Surely any larger extension will impact the succession plan with Sanders?

Many would say no but if Moses does not take us at the very least deep into the semifinals would we want to re-sign him long term or would another option in a young half like Sanders be the better strategy?

I like the idea of him taking the option only at this stage. 2023 will be his 7th with us and although we have greatly improved over this time, we cannot risk impacting the next generation unless Moses helps to win the big prize.

Exactly my thoughts. I’m happy for both parties to go in another direction in 2025. Timing would be almost perfect for both parties.
