Rumours and Stuff

Dogs have some exciting players but are they tough? The pack is a bit average to me and some of the backs are young and inexperienced so hard to know if they are stars in the making or hyped up average players.

There is loads of pressure on Burton. I've said this before. Players in weak sides get an easy run. Other sides just don't take you that seriously. But once your sides in contention for finals other teams start to really do their homework on your best players. And for them it's Burton.

A lot of Mahoneys 2022 decline was due to his success in 2021 and Parra being a threat. Sides knew they had to target him to help slow us down. Explains why his TA's all but dried up and he started missing more tackles.

D.Brown hasn't had it easy. He has been targeted and a game plan on him since day one.
What us ciraldos style. Is he defensive? Did he introduce the drag them back defence?

Just like Moses is worth what the Tigers offered him.

Bottom line is Munster took 1m to stay at the Storm. Why can't be have the same expectations with Moses?
That's right. A valuation of a commodity varies based on the need of the bidder. If the Dolphins and Tigers offers were genuine, then that’s the top end market price. The Storm and Eels were lucky that we were the preferred tenders.

Because moses and munster are different personalities and have differences.

Kicking is timing and technique. Like some golf players can hit further than others

Yup. You don't always take the highest price just like when you choose a supplier or vendor you dont always pick the lowest price. Other factors sway your decision. They're not robots

He did take 1 mill to stay in the books. I reckon he would have a TPA also.

Moses reports was a deal of 1.25 Munsters deal would be similar. We do not know what TPAs the Moses deal includes.

As far as age goes Hunt and DCE are 33/34. They are two of the best halves and Hunt had his best ever season in 22.
Unlike a second rower, prop or back they aren't relying on power and speed solely. They have other aspects of their games that are more important to the side and those things tend to not decline for a while later.
We will find out how long the deal is today. I imagine 4yrs so 24 -27.

Also Munster would of had to move his family and left all his friends.
Moses can live where he is and chose any Sydney club. That's a pretty big thing

Just an excuse tbh.

Either way we do not know the exact figures. If Moses is on no more then 1m on the cap - MON has done a great job.

If we are forking out 1.25m on the cap, my question is wtf has MON been doing in the negotiations for 3 months.

That is actualy a very good point. If he cost 1.25 then the deal.should of been wrapped up months ago. It smells of squeezing every God dam cent.
But I don't beleive it. Had we lost Dylan then sure. But we had him signed along with Guth, Penisini and 2 x top shelf props, Matterson, Lane.
The nucleus of a good side. Along with the fact we have apparently 2 or 3 very promising young halves.
I also think if one for those young halves kicks on D.Brown might be the guy who ends up at Fullback for a year or two once Gutherson done.
He finishes in 2025. About the time Sanders or Blayze would be ready.

well according to the article, he is worth $1.6M

looks like we got a bargain
Where is Pou when you need him, how can the rorters sign Dom Young from Knights with the players they have? Need Pou to do spreadsheet with his estimate of salaries paid to their players, would easily estimate it would be well in excess of $11m even now. As example:
Tedesco $1m
Manu $800k
Keary $800k
Walker $700k
Suaalii $400k
Crichton $700k
Smith $1m
JWH $700k
Radley $700k
Those above come to $6.8m on a current cap of $9.2m so how do you fit 21 players into the remaining $2.4m???? Nothing to see here NRL!!!!

Since the joint venture started in 2000 they have finished 9th on 6 occasions.

(2004,2007,2009,2016,2018,2019)

Only made the finals 3 times.

So basically they have finished 9th on twice as many occasions as they have actually made the finals.

You left out winning a comp in the past 38 years, which surely burns every Parra fan.

In all serioussness some of my best mates are Parra fans and although they wanted Mitchy they all feared he would get overs. Without doubt he is the best managed player in the comp and all he needed was another intereststed party and he was going to get every cent out of Parra. I seriously doubt he was ever going to leave as the two teams are in different places at the moment.

I'll show myself out as you guys are sick of Tigers fans this morning, just as we have been sick of some of you lot in the last couple of weeks. Good luck, should be a good year this year.

Spot on Cloeel, well said. Parra are paying massive overs for a rapidly depreciating asset, paying him more at 31 than at 28!!!! Madness!

Well done Parra and enjoy having Mitchell for the rest of his dwindling career. Im just glad I wont have to pretend to like the bloke again.

never wanted him back at all......not at all....not even a little bit. Really
What a bitter pill, now that he's not going to your team you hate and put hate on him, again.

Feeling for the Tigers TBH. Maybe we should mend bridges with a gesture of goodwill. We don't need him.

Not as interesting as the 2024 Concorde fan day but.

Oh who am I kidding? A preseason midweek conditioning session at Kellyville is more interesting than whatever goes for a Balmain Magpies fan day
Yeah but they have a barber and a juice bar at their new COE.
