Yeah i think Brooks cops it a bit too much ... he has probably had some confidence issues lately cos of endless speculation. He isnt that bad.

He played same games as Nathan Cleary 17 and had 12 LBAS vs 14.
Moses had 18 LBAS with 26 games. 9 more games how many does Brooks get? You would imagine another 5 or 6 on that ratio. Brings him to 17-18 and level with Moses. So then you look at his weapons and pack playing behind. Does Moses get more help or Brooks?

Tackles wise Brooks made 402 vs 410 of Mitch in 9 less games. So he is forced to do more work. He missed less tackle by about 10. Now in a side that gets dominated he faces more pressure in defense. He is a superior defender.

I think in a good side Brooks would be talked about much differently. I am tipping him to stand out this season and people going on where has this been.
Let's just see

Just like Moses is worth what the Tigers offered him.

Bottom line is Munster took 1m to stay at the Storm. Why can't be have the same expectations with Moses?
Moses had a lot more options that didn't require him to move house. It's as simple as that. Probably no coincidence that the other clubs chasing him were geographically close to us.

But also we don't know what we ended up paying, whatever the media says. We can only look at our team overall and decide whether we are getting value under the cap. An individual player's worth is unknowable (to most of us) and only a part of the overall spread of talent under the cap.

Also, if Moses is one of our leaders who drives the professionalism and culture in our club then there is an expected salary tax. Munster is a better player (much better, if you don't factor in their relative kicking games) but a bit of a risk off the field. As another example of leadership tax, Jesse Bromwich is reportedly on $1M at the Dolphins. I take all these figures with a grain of salt but that one is so unexpected that you have to wonder. He's not the player he was eight years ago but if he was a significant contributor to Melbourne's culture then it would explain why the Dolphins were happy to pay so much. Likewise, Moses has grown up a lot in recent years, and he is still at his peak as a player.

Without doubt he is the best managed player in the comp and all he needed was another intereststed party and he was going to get every cent out of Parra.
He had two other interested parties, but if we were willing to match rival offers we would have done it weeks ago. This latest article by Chammas is leaked by the Tigers, so is intended to suit their narrative. Suddenly they were only offering an extra $200k over the same duration as Parra? It doesn't make sense. All the kerfuffle a week ago was over the extra year on offer at Wests. That's the only thing that would sway Moses to leave, and they would have known it. This Chammas article is Tigers sour grapes, nothing more. We know Parra doesn't pay overs because we have a good team. Now if only we could get a few more merkins on unders we could compete with Penrith, Melbourne and the Roosters.

From what I have heard Penrith didn't bother with him from a young age knowing he was going to always chase $$ and big clubs would circle. I'm guessing they'd know his family.
I was intrigued hearing about how they vet their youngsters, making them walk laps of the training field all night and questioning them on motivations and so on.

Very gracious of you Gronk, but Sheensy is already onto it....

Great SG Ball player! He could be anything, just like Hastings and Luke Kelly! I wish we had let Drown and Moses go and kept him instead. If he leaves we'll never get him back. Just like Moses.

The fact is they would know about what interest someone like him was going to get and an idea what the family is like. Sualii is a talent but has a media circus following him and wants the biggest pay day he can get. He will always cost overs.
And you cut them early so they do not sway your other youngsters and get in their ears. Smart business planning tbh. Last thing you want is some kid telling all the other what they can get elsewhere ffs. And why waste time and energy on them when there is a high chance they will jump ship at anytime.

He only has to do one good thing and commentators go wild. As I mentioned earlier Koula has shown as much. So has Cobbo.
Sualli most likely ends up better then both but I've not seen him dominate a game yet. His output is a few flash skills so far and a high knee lift when runs.

I think he might be signed up for a few years still?
Interestingly, Blaize Talagi is a year younger than Sanders and already in our development squad. Also made Australian Schoolboys.

As for Sanders, don't forget he looks up to Jake Arthur. How good could he really be?

Good post. Suaalii definitely has the highest ceiling but he definitely has a bit of the Jarryds about him too.
That said Cobbo seems to have a dog shit attitude and was Koula one of the players who doesn’t believe in gays?

Is it because he’s short?

For the last 3 weeks Parra were sticking to their guns that their final offer was $1Mpa. This week Parra caved to $1.25M. That is why it took this long, and that is why it didnt make sense.

And when they played in the same team their attacking output was nearly identical.

Chammas article also uses the 2023 season in his total estimate value of Moses contract over the next 4 years with us but states it really is an extension for the three years beyond 2023 as he is already on our books for this year. I interpret that to mean we have offered a 3 year extension @ 1.2M for a total of 3.6M overall

On the other hand tigers offered a 4 year deal from 2024 @ 1.3M for a total value of $5.2M overall. That's a big difference IMO.
