Do we believe the media or not? I vote not. They are all speculators. We know we don't pay overs because we have a much stronger squad than back when we did pay overs. It's also stronger than other clubs that pay overs, such as Wests and Canterbury. I obviously don't know the facts, but if they're not paying overs why are they so shit?

Waqa is a decent player and a decent centre. He never has had a full season where Injuries didn't interrupt. In 2022 he was great till injured.
A try he scored against Manly on the wing would of made highlight reel for months if it was Sualii. Best put down of the season.
Anyone remember when he steam rolled Papenhauzen? He is a beast when in form and fit.

It is all about value, not whether a merkin is better. We already have better outside backs in Penisini and Sivo, plus huge money tied up in the forwards and spine. I'd say we could only afford to fill our 3 and 5 jerseys with players of Blake's calibre. He is also the quickest player at our club. There's a good argument for keeping him.

And when on song he is a better attacker then both. His issue is the high ball and defensive reads. He is big and can tackle.
If he worked on the high ball he is a fine winger. But I prefer him at centre

Yes, I should have said better = better value.

Post stands through - instead of signing Waqa for another contract, imo we need to look for a better centre for the same value that will merit a starting 13 spot (rather than keep him to effectively stack our NSW Cup ranks). Blake won't fill a wing jersey again.

They're pretty big issues for a first grade centre or winger, at an age they should already be competent at those things.

Tigers have a history of leaking for sour grapes.

They probably threw our figure out there.

I would say we have upped it slightly still anyway. But realistically we probably only played 50-100k more then we wanted too.

The thing is I said both are done deal and Parra will milk the media for all its worth so I question why the deals where made
A- A week before Christmas
B- A week before season kicks off
