I’m over the Moses contract thing. I hope the club is sticking to its guns.
as for our forward pack I feel our strongest pack if all fit is
8 Paulo
9 Hodgo
10 RCG
11 Lane
12 Doorey (I would stick with him for now)
13 Hopgood
14 Cartwright
15 matterson
16 Nathan Brown
17 doesn’t really matter because BA never plays them but I would like to see Wiremu given 6 weeks to see if he can make it.
Every week hodgo plays 80?

How do you know they'll all be starting? Either way, if they're fit they'll be up to it. 32 isn't old. 30 certainly isn't. There's 30-year-old forwards in Origin every year.

What matters is the total cost. Giving an experienced player an extra year is a way to keep their price down in earlier years. But considering in 2025 we'll have Lane, Matterson, RCG and Paulo all 31 or 32, we'll also have Mataele at age 23. And there's still another three spots in the 17 for youngsters.
It’s old in rugby league terms. You can probably afford to carry a few around that age but don’t want your entire pack to be made up of that age group.
I think Shannon Sharpe explains it very nicely here

Yep, thought about that one, ideally we would have a will smith/ ray stone style player on the bench to give Hodgo a rest and cover multiple positions. We don’t unfortunately. Carty could cover at a stretch perhaps
Mate, carty is terrible out of dummy half. All last year when he did play there his passes were like floating out really slowly off the ground.

In Thursday night, he was at dummy half once and did the same.

I think he's taking the piss out of playing there so coach wont pick him there

I would actually start Cartwright. He went well the other night. I think when he comes off the bench he's either nervous or feels like he has to make a statement, and that's where mistakes come in.

We don't need wholesale changes.

If Sivo try wasn't called forward which it wasn't there is 4-6 points. Add Moses missed conversion 2 points. That's 8.

Lumelume also had a chance to score. Imo Sivo or Waqa finish that. Russel or Simmonson 50/50. He got his body all wrong. Another possible 4-6 points.
Then throw in the fact he missed a tackle. Not an easy tackle but he didn't even slow him down. Had he then Penisini most likely stops him. And ultimately the dropped ball that lead to the try. That's 12 points. He made one good run of 15mtrs. But a total of 65mtrs. Unsure why people loved his game. He was gash.

If we get fit we have Lane,Matto on the bench. I hope we don't see Moimesea or Makatoa a lot this season.

Just love Hindmarsh. He is a true Parra Legend:

Moses will bring up his 200th NRL game in Round 2 and has scored 35 tries and 1,082 points, but has so far failed to lead a side to a premiership.

Hindmarsh believes the Eels should let Moses leave to join the Tigers rather than bow to his demands, given they have already offered a deal that would make Moses one of the game’s highest paid players.

“It is a great offer, but if he doesn’t stay and goes to the Tigers then so be it because apparently the Tigers’ offer is still on the table,” Hindmarsh said.

Have to agree... Watching all the games over the weekend Moses is well behind a few of the halves that gat paid less than what he wants.

I would be happy if the club chased Suallliii moved Gutho to 5/8 and Brown to half and then put our hopes in the 3 Juniors in a few years..

He brings up his 200th game this week and is playing at home. If he doesn't announce it by Friday the milestone will end up being a true wet fart moment.

Everyone had the Shits with how Gutho dragged out his contract but atleast he signed in November before pre season and on around 800k a season.

Moses put the club first at the end of the season and that was a great thing he did but he is taking the piss now.

The me-first culture of leader Gutho's contract negotiations through media and then Matterson choosing suspension instead of fine have sadly permeated through the club's culture.

Moses is just the latest - thank god we have someone like Dylan Brown who just got the damned next extension done and signed.

Surely "his people" and maybe "the club's people" are just colluding to get maximum positive news coverage for him/us - linking his announcement's timing with his 200th game build-up, and in week 2 of the comp (rather than compete with all the start of season coverage in week 1)?

The Sharks won in 2016 with four members of their pack over 32. It didn't stop them.

Is Matterson still part of the leadership group? Surely not
Doubt it. Given his exit and the negative talk when he left the Tigpies I was very surprised he was handed his Prefects Badge by BA the minute he walked in the door. Well probably not so surprised in retrospect.
