I won't get to worried yet. We easily could be 2 from 2. Both games where 50/50.
The problem is this season is tough. All games will be tough. Dropping home games when you led by 8-10 early will bite you end of season.
Right now I'd say top 4 is done due to dropping these two games. Yes it is early but 5th spot now would be highest we may finish.
Problem is we have created pressure on ourselves.

We are club that can't afford to start slow.

As the media pressure adds another layer that other clubs don't have to worry about.

And we generally implode when the heat is on.

He’s that dumb he doesn’t even know they are mistakes.
I'm about to put the elephant in the room. Sack BA! Sack BA!

Supposedly he spent all off season teaching them defence. Well I can tell you they learnt NOTHING! Our D is deplorable, our bench poor and don't get me started on his use of the bench. Yesterday he used 15 players (Makapillow only spent about 5 min on the field) and he overused our middles. Hopgood needs a decent rest to maintain his high involvement rate!!! None of the new recruits (except Hopgood) gives me any confidence they'll amount to anything.

And what has happened to our juniors? Honestly we have none, or very few. For the investment the club makes I'd suggest its money wasted. Have I missed anything?

For someone who the players suggest is not a good coach, Walters, is doing a good job at the Broncos and guess what - they have good defence. Sorry but BA has achieved nothing in his tenure here except mostly keep us in the finals. We want more, we need more, we demand more! A premiership is what we want and BA can't deliver so has to go!!!!

They missing some of best players - Yes we miss 2 also. But we at home. Not beating sharks without Hynes is poor form at home amd up by 10. We self destructed. Is up to halves to take control and run the game. Moses reminds me of a guy who has all the skill but lacks the mental awareness and calm head.
He is a 900k halfback
Moses was good tonite and you're blind to whats in front of you. He didn't lose that game. He went right over to the left side to score that try. He scored 2 trys and that is vision and smarts. Blame poor defence and BAs atrocious use of the bench for our loss. The forwards are gassed and BA can't see it. As I said last week, shades of 2018 are back and I'm not the only one to see it.

His kick game is far to predictable. His organsing is poor. When we got within 4 and 7 to go I feel it's the halfbacks job to say to the side look we are going to get a few more chances to win this if we control the ball. After kick off I want 5 big runs up the guts. My jib is a good kick and defence you must hit hard and chase hard. We need to pin them inside their 20.
From there we control field possesion. Start our sets near halfway. Either score or force a drop out. Worse case keep then in their half. Maybe a mistake comes.

Instead we spread it and went for the win on 3rd or 4th. Lost ball. Gave then all the field possesion and they made us work it for a 90mtr try. Hey we almost did as well. I'd say if we completed a good set after that try but we win. They where gassed

He was good but not great.

A 1.25 million dollar player should have nailed 2 out of the 3 goals he has missed this year. And we wouldn't be 0/2.

I've highlighted the problem there. We have NO defence and until we do we'll continue to lose games.

Yeah, he has.

But he's probably more reliable under pressure.

Mitch just doesn't seem to have that cool, killer instinct temperament to ice a game.
Reynolds can also nail a FG under pressure.

He kicked 3 FGs in a semi in 2018 to take souths to a prelim.

Moses has kicked less then 3 when the game has been on the line in his whole time at parra in 6 years.

For me, the greatest area of concern is how we've painted ourselves into this position through our recruitment choices.

Pou touched on it earlier, and I agree with him - we have a big drop off in quality from our starting 13, because we've elected to put forward a strong 13, which means our 14-17 aren't as strong. They can't be - we spent too much on our starting team.

So you find you have Lane, Matterson, and Brown out, and their replacements struggle to bring what they do to the table.

Paulo, and RCG, start us off well - then they go for a breather, and we are in trouble.

It sucks that we aren't one of these clubs that players stay at for less than they are able to get elsewhere. Our leadership players (mainly Gutherson) set the tone in that regard by being public disgraces for maximum money.
If Mitch does head off for the money, I would sell Gutherson to who ever will give us a bit as he is bad leader off the field and on way too much money. Just keep Dylan Brown and spend 2-3 years trying to rebuild.

Two four point losses in a games against TOP teams is no reason to be slashing wrists. The Sheffield Shield final hasn't been played yet!!!!.
and played minus two of the competitions leading forwards - Matto and Lane. Gee people throw their bums in the corner quickly....In every YAAAAAAAH, there has to be a few BAAAAAAAHS...."You gotta Accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative, latch on to the affirmative, and don't mix with Mr In Between"

You need a fast fullback or one who breaks tackles. If not then you need two strong wingers. Otherwise you end up like us. Only 1 of our back 3 has any power and doesn't get rag dolled starting the set.

Just on our bench... yesterday our starting middles played a combined total of 193 minutes (out of 240).
RCG - 65 mins, Junior - 57 mins and Hopgood - 71 mins.
The remaining 47 mins were shared between Murchie (34) and Maka (13).

I would like to think that Jnr and RCG can do 60 odd minutes per game without losing too much of their effectiveness and with a decent replacement for Hopgood in Matto or Nrown being available, I am sure we would see him do less minutes as well.
