Just on our bench... yesterday our starting middles played a combined total of 193 minutes (out of 240).
RCG - 65 mins, Junior - 57 mins and Hopgood - 71 mins.
The remaining 47 mins were shared between Murchie (34) and Maka (13).

I would like to think that Jnr and RCG can do 60 odd minutes per game without losing too much of their effectiveness and with a decent replacement for Hopgood in Matto or Nrown being available, I am sure we would see him do less minutes as well.
Absolutely spot on. We might even see Hopgood drop to about 60 odd himself when Matto etc are back. Frustrating start to the season yes, but it’s not time to start cutting ourselves yet.

I am actually surprised it is only the tigers pursuing Moses. A club like the roosters would probably win with him in.
Everyone else is pretty committed to someone else. The only other teams really looking for a 7 is the Dogs. Dolphins have the money, but are they looking for a 7?

Roosters with Walker, and I suspect they will have to move Manu to 6 to justify the money eventually.

They come into the NRL over 20yrs ago but. Grothe was 23yrs ago.
We should be producing a wing or centre every 3yrs of some quality. Not talking fringe NRL level players who are in and out of grade.
We've produced pretty much duck eggs in 20yrs bar Seminand Penisni

yep. It means sweet f all, having the second biggest nursery, and you aren’t producing quality juniors. Or worse still, just giving players from one particular junior club a shot.

Our recruitment team is based at Rouse Hill.

Unless your a Rhino you have no hope.

Why worry about the Hills Bulls, Wenty, Cabra and all those other clubs in the area when we can just base ourselves at Rouse Hill and pluck the kids out of BA's junior team that are best mates with Jake.
Is it the case that all of our outside backs in our Top 30 that have come through our junior reps are all from Rouse Hill? Penisini, Russell, Loizou

He was good but not great.

A 1.25 million dollar player should have nailed 2 out of the 3 goals he has missed this year. And we wouldn't be 0/2.
He would have to have kicked 2 last night though, I think he probably gets an excuse for one. The other two of the last two weeks were poor kicks and should've been made.

We are way too predictable. Kicking to the left winger is catching practice and most often is followed by a poor chase. I was at the game last night and the right winger for Nulla wasn't even dropping back as he knew he could conserve his energy and not worry about being pressured. There were times Moses could've and should've kicked to open pastures ie across his body.
The half bomb kicks are pathetic.
When Moses smacked a torpedo in the air Kennedy spilt it.
Simonsson and Waqa just no. Waqa puts effort in but has no footy smarts.
The bench use is nothing short of deplorable and what you would expect from and u14s coach desperately trying to win a game whilst hiding his benchies. You could see RCG Waa buggered. Jnr did some really strong carries, Hopgood fantastic again and Cartwright has been excellent the 2 games. I know ppl put shit on him but I can't fault his effort and commitment last 2 games. For mine he has a bench spot once Lane and Matto come back
Just on Murchie. I like him and he is a good backrower but he ain't a middle.
The 2 middle benchies Wiremu and Makatoa got 2/5 of FA on the field.
Momoisea im happy to drive back to Newcastle. Free of charge.
BA has a lot of work to do. The fwds for most part have stood up. The backs have let us down. I'd have Lumelume ahead of Simonsson. Simonsson makes more metres than anyone but it's sideways. He can't bust the line and for someone who is supposedly fast, I am yet to see it.
Next 3 weeks will determine our season. If we are 0-5 that I'm afraid will be season over
I couldn't disagree with any of this.

Not bad but how good would it be if we had Cini and Penisini in the centres.😀
Asi is a good player too. Could even be the perfect 14 being able to play a number of positions.
Doorey is fine. More match fitness. Otherwise start Murchie.
I think Matto now plays exclusively middle..however be interesting how this plays out now Hopgood has shown he can do the same job if not better.
I think when we're fully fit we need to go with Matterson on the bench, coming on after 20 and then after 60 Doorey probably needs to go off and Matterson moves to edge.

I think Lane is going to struggle to play 80 to start with, I suspect we will need Cartwright on the bench to play the last 20 minutes initially.

Given the stage of Hopgoods careers, 60 minutes for him is where he should be at at the moment.

Matterson and Hopgood for 60, with 20 minutes of Mattersons time spent on the edge at the end of the match (Doorey can't play 80). That's 100 middle minutes
RCG and Junior to play 50 - That's another 100 minutes
So all we need is another 40 minutes from Nrown and Murchie

It's not just about the field goal. It is about the lead up and set up. I blame the halfback but perhaps it's the coaching

The coach has massive flaws, true.

But in round 1, I doubt Reynolds misses that conversion for us, I doubt he misses the field goal attempts, and he most likely keeps his cool when the game is on the line, and makes the right play - instead of throwing a hospital pass to a teammate to avoid getting tackled, or forcing a drop goal that simply wasn't available.

It sucks that we aren't one of these clubs that players stay at for less than they are able to get elsewhere. Our leadership players (mainly Gutherson) set the tone in that regard by being public disgraces for maximum money.
If Mitch does head off for the money, I would sell Gutherson to who ever will give us a bit as he is bad leader off the field and on way too much money. Just keep Dylan Brown and spend 2-3 years trying to rebuild.

To be fair, though - Gutherson plays to his price tag.

Moses wants over a million dollars a year, and is the least clutch halfback in the NRL.

Two four point losses in a games against TOP teams is no reason to be slashing wrists. The Sheffield Shield final hasn't been played yet!!!!.
and played minus two of the competitions leading forwards - Matto and Lane. Gee people throw their bums in the corner quickly....In every YAAAAAAAH, there has to be a few BAAAAAAAHS...."You gotta Accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative, latch on to the affirmative, and don't mix with Mr In Between"

You're right, Pete - we've lost both games by a try's margin.

But what's very concerning is that in both games, were strong positions to win, and we fell apart.

Ahead by 2 points yesterday, with 20 minutes to go, our million-dollar man touched the ball once in a set of six which started 20 metres out from the opposition try line.

Which lead to Brown overplaying his hand, and us turning the ball over.

It's concerning to me that we are even thinking about offering Moses anywhere near $1 million - he just isn't reliable enough for that sort of salary.
