the real issue is how bad our junior talent identification and recruitment is that is not adding and complimenting our premier well paid players.

I don't think we have a problem identifying young talent, our problem is keeping them

we seem to be a feeder club for so many other clubs

Brad Arthur is on the verge of inking a lucrative contract upgrade to become the longest-serving coach in Parramatta history.
News Corp can reveal Eels bosses want Arthur to remain at the club until at least the end of 2025 in a huge show of faith in Parramatta’s grand-final mentor ahead of Thursday night’s clash against Manly at Brookvale.

The Eels ended months of speculation over Arthur’s future last year when they signed the veteran coach to a two-year deal after he steered Parramatta to the NRL decider against the Panthers

This tears it...we are a seriously dumb club.

We seem to be engineered to avoid premiership success.

Cue the defenders.

Yep ---and I was proved correct about my assessment of Tim Smith. Haven't lived in Hay since 2017 (unfortunately, as it is the best community in NSW, in my opinion)...
"Take time to smell the roses mate, you'll enjoy life more"...
Apart from obviously seeing NOTHING positive about the Club, what gives you enjoyment about being an Eels supporter???...are there any POSITIVES at all..As I said, you must live a sad and lonely life. I'll bet you kick your dog every time Parra win, because it takes away your opportunity to post a negative....WHAT DO YOU ACTUALLY ENJOY?????
You were proven correct, you seemed gleeful in the fact a young man’s career was cut short due to mental illness. What a man!! Yet you are happy to point the finger at others. What do I enjoy!? Hmmmm I do enjoy pointing out the hypocrisy of others

I agree we shouldn’t be too hasty but I’ll play devil’s advocate. Who would you get to replace him? The only viable alternatives with experience are Madge, Flanagan or Hasler.

Bellamy could be someone we could target and give him an offer he couldn’t refuse but besides him I don’t have any appetite personally for anyone else let alone a rookie.

I think this is the reality of the situation. There really isn’t much out there that’s available, with each of those possible options having a lot of baggage, and I would be shocked if Bellamy had any appetite for top-line coaching again once he’s done with the Storm.

still think the club should’ve moved Arthur on after 2018, but in fairness he’s done pretty well since then, and the prospect of a rookie coach is such a risk that I think we’re better off with Arthur at the helm for the time being.

Lol Bea must have some incriminating photos of the board that’s all I can say.

I mean if he can’t win us a premiership after over a decade how can will he did it in another season??? I reckon we are now further away than we have been in a long time.

So when Matto returns will he be moved to the edge? I honestly think he needs to start. Matto isn't a prop and Hopgood is playing big minutes. I always liked Matto on the edge and I think that's where he's needed. He's one of our better forwards you want him playing big minutes. Also surely Asi gets a run at centre soon Waqa is seriously pissing me off.

Yeah, im happy for a change, but it has to be an upgrade on what we have.

I still have flashback to when we let Smith go, thinking Hagan would be the answer. Every appointment is a gamble to a degree.

I don't understand the haste.

Before the usual suspects assail my character, my discontent is not due to the last two RESULTS.....but it is due to the endemic problems with Brad's structures and game plans as confirmed in those games. The same problems have persisted for a very long time in the failure to manage the bench and the staid nature of our game plans.

we made the grand final last year despite these failings - and nothing has been done to address them, which means he doesn't see them as failings and that in itself petrifies me.

I don't see what the rush is though? It's not like we are at risk of losing him and the whole theory about players wanting to know who they are going to be coached by is rubbish imo when we see players signing for the season after next at times.

for 6 years all I’ve heard is who’s a worthy replacement.

Bennett has been available twice since then.

Payton has proved he’s an asset as a HC

Fitzgibbon has been good for the sharks.

there would be others but I can’t be bothered.

Siebold, Ciraldo, Webster, The bloke taking over from Wayne. The Souths coach that replaced Wayne. There are always options if due dilligence is done. I dont think our A is a major problem but to ignor whats happening and has been happening with our D for years isnt good.
