If everyone is fit I can't see the four forwards we have signed not being in the Top 17.

I also don't see Scott, Ma'u or Edwards not being in the Top 17

I also don't see us not carrying someone who can fill in at dummy half on the bench, as I see a major weakness in the team dynamics if De Gois has to play 80 minutes, so I think Pritchard or potentially even Robson will always get a run in the 17.

That leaves Mannah or Moeroa sitting in NSW Cup with our other middle forwards from 2016.

No chance Moeroa / Mannah play NSW cup when fit.

But time will tell who is right. We can revisit round 1 next year

It all makes trials very interesting with this depth. Who knows, even fogs might step up and claim a starter

Here is the problem with starting Matagi and Mannah. Both very similar without much of an offload.
Probably sitting on the bench are Brown, Edwards, Vave and F Pritchard, all skilful players and 2 big bodies. Therefor in the backend of the first half you bring on these players who could potentially blow the game open up against a team's second string forwards.
Or does one of the bench forwards start with Mannah, or is Mannah warming the bench? Which way do you go?
Well thats the whole thing ... most coaches want a no frills, low mistakes forward on at the start to try and make a solid mistake free start to games

Your point was that they were all on top 17 money so will be in the top 17. Probably true for Vave, Brown and Fritchard (a very late signing when we had money to spend and nobody to spend it on) but almost certainly not true for Matagi (a late signing who has been off contract all year for no takers).

My original point was that we bought go forward because what we previously had wasnt good enough

Do we now (in hindsight) regret letting a very good 80 minute hooker go in Peats last year? I know at the time that I thought it was a good move to be able to play for points, but it may look a bad move in hindsight, especially now knowing the true Foran story.

P.S. I really do hate making hindsight posts.

P.P.S. I would struggle with an 80 minute hooker myself. About 79 minutes too long for me ;)

The coach himself has admitted in hindsight that the decision was a mistake

How many times did Peats play 80 minutes?

Who's going to miss out for both Mannah and Moeroa to get a game?

The side I think that will get picked is:

8. Mannah
9. De gois
10. TBA
11. Moeroa
12. Manu
13. Scott

14. Pritchard
15. Pritchard
16. Edwards
17. TBA

With two spots available between vave, peni, matagi and brown.

I think brown will got a spot and peni may get the other.

If I was picking, I would probably go with the above side with Vave starting (maybe Frankie starting and vave on the bench ) and Brown on the bench.

Do you think that means we're going to fill our 17 with attacking forwards at the expense of our fast and relentless defensive line? I doubt we'll have more than one on the field at a time. As for Brown, he has some skill but his go forward isn't that great. We've bought him as much for his defence as his attack.

I don't agree with some of your line-up but thank you very much for putting Moeroa in the #11, I know jersey number means sfa but when putting a list online the 11 and 12 is reserved for edge forwards. I see most people putting Scott back out on the edge with Tep back in the middle (Those that do then complain that Tep should be playing out wide).
