Rumours and Stuff

I’d say it’s more that, whatever Souths are offering, a club like Parra (or Canberra) would have to at least match it entirely inside the cap. This is why a handful of clubs are in or around the top four nearly every year. It’s not that the other ten clubs are ‘poorly run’. They just don’t have the same advantages as the top clubs. And by advantages I mean resources.

Jeez I wish the ARLC would hurry up and publicise all the players salaries including TPA's just so we can shut you up with your lame bullsh*t excuses.

Remember when they listed how much each club had in TPA's a few years ago now? Sure we were low, but so were a few other well run clubs with great rosters at the time including the Roosters. You are just so ridiculous and not in a funny way.

The rorting, if it is happening is not being done in plain sight. It would be outside of the salary cap and TPA's. That is why if we want to compete with the likes of Rusty and Uncle Nick or the wealth of talent of the Broncos and Panthers we ourselves need to massively improve in junior identification, Put up and continue to put up a massive stink with the ARLC about clubs like Manly setting up shop in OUR junior district, expand our catchment area like the Panthers have done with Bathurst and identify an area either in NSW or one of the Pacific Islands(my fav is Fiji) that we feel has massive potential as a production line and pour a decent amount of recourses with permanent scouts and coaching clinics involved. Make the Fiji islands ours as much as possible for example. Back in our home nursery go into private and Union schools and work hard on bribing them to be affiliated with us. And finally some freakin merkin that has real clout in the business world should be brought on that his sole job is to find TPA's and to court the big end of town and bring them in to be part of the Parra family.

I know we already do this to some degree, but we aren't doing it all that well. Whoever is in charge of TPA's and attracting the rich and famous is doing a piss poor job of it and should be fired. We need someone with connections and influence. We are competing with the likes of a Hollywood super star and a Billionaire. Middle of the road won't cut it. As for the other stuff, they are things that any club with strong management, enough money(which we have) and real desire and a will to be truly successful can do. We should be looking at all options and turn over every stone and always be looking to innovate and be Eagles not sheep. Otherwise a Premiership at best will be fluky and a one off that can't be sustained and God knows when that will ever happen? I want us to be leaders again, not Pou's favourite excuse of mediocrity.

Regrettably Nrown had to go. Denials everywhere that there were no issues with BA but totally unconvincing. He was a great soldier for us. I hope he gets an opportunity at The Brave Roosters.

Brown was a Merkin of the highest order but even if he didn't get along with the Coach he would have been useful right now... Having no direct replacement but Murchie off the bench in the early weeks was hopeless..

Give them time mate. We are known for improiving players. Dare I say we make them Parrafit.

Time???

Time to watch us fail to not make the 8? Great recruiting. They really know how to strengthen our club.

We had the money to buy a decent prop and hooker and and maybe a lower grade rising star centre or winger then worry about fillers later. Failed hopelessly and we are the ones again that have to suffer the fools in charge that ruined our season and lose the window of success we may have had a chance of having.

Give it up Excusealot. You are so painfully boring.

As my little birds said 3 weeks ago Waqa won't see out the season.

If that happens and with the current money we already have available this season, what do we go do? Buy another fringe player in a position we have many fringe players already. Bloody freakin geniuses!!!

What we should have done and been doing is courting a real quality prop to transfer to us and getting all our ducks in a row as soon as Waqa moves on and we have whatever money he has saved us added to our total, and we pounce. Obviously we make sure we move heaven and earth to make the June deadline. If no quality signing are possible, then save every penny available for QUALITY signing for next year. How freakin hard is it. These guys in charge are absolute morons and just reactive pelicans that want to be seen as doing something. What losers and we are stuck with them. Jeez!

As for Moses and how much of his new contract we can put on this year to lower the amount in the ensuing years, I believe the NRL have a policy to not allow for to much of a discrepancy between years in front ending or back ending contracts. I don't think you can have more the around $100K difference between years.

So it could look like this for front loading and obviously in reverse for back loading. So the relief isn't that great year by year. The real relief would come from TPA's if we could get them.

Year 1 = $1.3m
Year 2 = $1.2m
Year 3 = $1.1m
Year 4 = $1m
Year 5 = $900K

So this story indicates that Gus was considering approaching JA about going to the Bulldogs for the remainder of the season.

With Davey signing immediately, would we actually be doing a swap for JA instead? I can't see it, but we will see what is announced.

This article indicates that the Roosters have signed a winger for next year from the UK. Surely Tupou is an option now.

Geez we love bringing blokes back to he club... Ian Hindmarsh, Tahu, EGJ, PJ Marsh, Bob O'Reilly, Hayne, this Davey bloke allegedly played for us before ...

We signed him from qld cup where he was the best player in that comp that year. He had a very good season (or two) with us and signed with manly. Many were sad to see him leave. Not a great signing but not a terrible one either. If he stays fit, he can add a little to the squad imo.
