Strength based training over body building is supposed to be where it's at.
Lift heavy; high intensity, low reps and build strength rather than lighter weights with higher reps that build puffy muscle that isn't as strong.
Yep, working for me and I neglected it for too long. I am naturally stronger but tried a whole bunch of hiit, running etc but left out the weight.
I've started again, lost 5kg in the last 10 weeks, aiming half a kilo per week and eat the same thing every day, don't change it except a cheat meal once a week.
I carry fat well but this works. 12 weeks ago I was training for a marathon @104kg running 60+km's per week, I lost zero kg's. Now strength 3 times per week, sprint sessions and 1 longer run and it's working. Consistency is the key, I made all kinds of excuses.

Here is a good kick up the arse read I needed.

I did The Man Challenge recently started as a bit of a joke but ended up losing 13kg over the 10 week period. Worked for me and doesn't involve going to a gym. Will sign on for another round early in the new year.

I only do two 35-40 min weigh sessions which I find is enough to keep size/bulk.

My key is to include push ups into my fitness sessions. I do 3 fitness sessions a week, but include 100 push ups in each session.

In my defence, how bad could a pizza with Lebanese bread as a base be? And chicken, ham, mushrooms, olives, anchovies, pepperoni and capsicum... Mmmmm

You're an idiot. Intent has absolutely nothing to do with it. Certain words, certain attitudes and certain stereotypes are simple racist. End of story

That being said, I also disagree with those who think that stereotypes inherently equal racism. They don't. I don't believe the original comment that Indigenous people are more often than not lithe and athletic is racism by any means, it's simple genetics. Evolution has ensured, like any other animal on earth, these particular people have adapted to their environment over thousand of years. It's the same for any group of humans the world over. We all have characteristics that have evolved in a specific people for a specific reason.

Racist!

Regarding losing weight, it really isn't that hard working out why. Just look at your diet and see what you eat that processed. Then try cutting it out or substituting it for fruit and veg.

I had ok fitness but about 8 years ago I saw a photo of myself and realised was getting pretty fat!! It just all caught up with me, it wasn't that my diet was shocking but the daily grind does lead to some poor diet choices which adds up over the years.

I basically stopped desserts during the week, went to lite milk and only had fruit (instead of processed snacks) for morning / afo tea.

I lost about 6 kilos in a year.

I then cut out a bit of bread during the week.

Lost 10kgs in total went from around 108 to 98 kg and no longer look fat!!

I still enjoy my desserts / beer / wine etc but just save that for the weekends!!

But will power is bloody hard at times

That's an assessment of health, not of genetic characteristics.

Aboriginal people do tend to be more lithe and athletic, genetically, because they evolved as nomads travelling long distances in very harsh environments. Ever seen a Kalahari Bushman built like an NRL prop? Similar principle.

Obesity rates in the Aboriginal population is a completely different discussion with completely different causes.
Sure obesity is a measure of health but it's also an indicator of body size and to suggest otherwise is misleading. So is abdominal obesity or waist circumference and 60% of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men have a waist circumference that places them at increased risk of chronic disease. At the very least, they are figures that are not reflective of a race that is "slight" and "wiry" and generally incapable of playing in the forwards in the NRL as Ram suggested.

Furthermore, Ram's assertion that Indigenous players are generally incapable of playing in the forwards in the NRL unless they also have Islander descent completely ignores their Aboriginality in the makeup of their size and body shape which is also disingenuous. If this was the case the opposite would be true and players with both Aboriginal and Islander ancestry would generally not be suitable in the backs. However, players such as Milford, Thurston, Ferguson, Neilsen and our very own Josh Hoffman say :raising_hand:♂️

Well are you also deciding what is and isnt racist ... you just dont agree with him

The irony.

Just remember hypocrites, you were the first ones to decide that Hindy111 and then me, were acting in a racist manner. I then defended myself. And sure peoples words can be interpreted as racist or disparaging, but we are supposed to be intelligent human beings. Use those big brains of yours and work it out.

It ain't that hard.

OK I wind back what I said. Sorry.

The safety net or safe place is required for minorities who don't have a voice or the means to defend themselves.

F**K safe places for some! All of us have the same protection under the existing laws. That is the way it is and the way it should stay. Freakin lefty liberal progressive social justice warriors everywhere.

You would think that with The Trump winning, that you idiots would have learned your lesson. But your butt hurt whining has no end. Just remember, you LOST!
