Rumours and Stuff

NO YOU CAN ALL SHUT YOUR f**kEN MOUTHS FFS!!!!!

But we don't, because the feedback loop between club action and visible outcome is extremely opaque. We have zero visibility of most decisions that are made (and not made) and the results of all these decisions are aggregated into a few highly visible events: match results, player/staff movements, official announcements, and stories published by the media (including social media) with their own agendas.

Of course they can make poor decisions. The point is nobody can know in advance the actual level of risk attached to a decision, and in hindsight we often don't know either. If some decision had a 2% chance of leading to disaster, will the presence or absence of disaster prove it either way? If we (incorrectly) assessed the risk as 3% will we ever know if we were right? The outcome doesn't prove our risk assessment correct or otherwise.

How much more so for an external observer who had access to even less information?
What you’re suggesting is literally the definition of a cult. You’re creating an unfalsifiable scenario so that the leader’s decisions can never be questioned. A lot of those factors you listed are more than sufficient for people outside the club to form an opinion (eg match results). It’s not that deep.

Agree. It might work in some limited environments, but that approach is entirely unsuited to apply to interactions on internet discussion forums, or even in regular day-to-day civilian life.

If you are watching burton kick, this what i said a few weeks back.

Moses should sometimes kick long and sometimes spiral bomb short and mix it up a bit
The way Moses kicks now is better for our defence because it makes the opposition's set starts predictable. I agree if we were chasing points that a less predictable kick might be better.

I agree that giving too much of a shit about things over which you have no control is irrational behaviour. Humans ffs

It's the cult's board's job to question the CEO, not yours. You're not qualified and you don't have enough information.

Our results have been good for years and I expect them to continue to be good. Why wouldn't they be? What secret information have you got that suggests our 'luck' will turn bad?

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying we need to get rid of the coach. I’m disagreeing with your assertion that fans aren’t entitled to give their opinions on how the club is being run. It’s nonsensical.
What “qualifications” are required to have a valid opinion? I find it funny how you’re willing to downplay Cleary’s coaching achievements despite “not having enough information” but have different standards for our coach.
It’s not a question of whether our results have been/will be good. It’s whether they’re good enough. Don’t know if you follow the NBA but the Milwaukee Bucks just fired their coach who only won them a championship 2 seasons ago and finished 1st in their conference thi because the team was eliminated in the first round. I suppose Bucks fans don’t have any right to comment on whether or not he deserved to be sacked because they’re not part of the inner circle?

They don’t know why he was sacked, so their comments are stupid in proportion to their certainty. The only facts they have are the team’s performance and that the coach was sacked. Was the coach responsible for the losses but not the wins perhaps? Or is there more going on?

My opinion is that coaches are sacked due to relationships, not short term results. However those results will have an effect on the relationships.

I’ve had a few. What did I miss?
Merkins have been arguing all week about what happened 10/15/20 years ago.

They still don’t like Hodgson, are outraged over the Russell/Dunster thing.

Merkins are pissed that we are a middle and a centre short. And speed and palookas.

We still haven’t won the comp since you last checked in.

The coach is bald.
