I think this will turn out to be the season we needed to have to show the club we need to improve the roster.

We should have much better Right Wing, Left Centre, 9, and interchange middles in 2024 as a result of the 2023 recruitment clusterf**k.
Four straight years in the finals is a rare occurrence for our club. It would mean we have aced our recruitment and cap management. So obviously after a period like that the cap will bite. That's what's happened this year.

I think we should be better next year.

Likes of Penisini, Hands & Hopgood should be better next year with more experience.

We have been more dumb this year then horrible.

Recruitment though must be improved clearly the ones we brought in this year haven't been up to standard bar Hopgood.

I am concerned about Paulo we have another 3 years and hopefully its a form slump but he is a major concern atm.

I actually think our cap is fine, but our recruitment was hamstrung and couldn't make any recruitment decisions until Moses decided what he was doing. We apparently have plenty of cash to spend, just no one to spend it on at the moment.

If we are front loading Moses that means we should be signing players for next year which we are not at the moment.
There aren't that many players available for next year so if we're frontloading Moses it will be into next year, not this year. 2025 is when we will be recruiting bigly for. And that won't start until November.

I think we've let RCG and Paulo down with having no adequate players in the squad to give them enough rest.

not how it works. For Parra to be able to afford to fit Moses new deal in the cap over the next 5 years, they need to front load THIS year with Browns $$$ which doesnt free up cash for next year because Moses is getting more than Parra has budgeted for next year and the 4 after it.

I posted a long list of players who this time last year weren't available for 2023, but all changed clubs. We're not really after high-end players, just a few players in a few positions where we need better players. Some of these aren't even starting 13 players.

This should improve with Wiremu getting bigger minutes in the absence of Reg. He’s only 23 and would have had his development stunted by covid and BA’s strategy of having him warm the bench for 80 in previous years.
Leaves us with a middle rotation of Junior, RCG, Matto, Hopgood, Greig. Hopefully have a few juniors pushing through to the top squad as well.

- Souths Away, at probably our worst performing stadium Allianz without RCG
- Cowboys at Home the week before Origin without RCG and possibly Junior
- Dogs Away without RCG
- Manly at Home without RCG
- Dolphins Away likely still without RCG
- Warriors at Home the week before Origin, likely still without RCG, potentially also Junior
- Titans at Home
- Cowboys Away
- Storm Away
- Dragons at Home
- Broncos Away
- Roosters at Home
- Panthers Away

I still think we will beat the Cowboys (only if Junior doesnt play Origin), Manly, Titans and Dragons at Home

I don't think we'll beat Souths, Dolphins, Cowboys, Storm, Broncos and Panthers Away

Games I still can't pick at this stage are Dogs Away, Roosters at Home, and Warriors at Home, but we'll need to win them all, and one or two of those I don't think we'll win, to be any chance of making the Top 8.

Does anyone think will win 8 out of our remaining 13?

If we don't beat Souths this week, I'm prepared to say it's time to pack her up and plan for 2024.

Yeah, I think Greig can be that adequate number 17 on the interchange next season. That role that Oregon filled for the last few years.
