It's a great point. There should be a lazy effort or should we more accurately say, non-effort tackle state for exactly that type of thing that happens so often in games. Some players in the NRL are huge repeat offenders and having that publically highlighted may have a positive affect on them making more of an effort in those circumstances.

Players that are lying on the ground and are way to slow in getting up and back in the defensive line are the worst offenders and lead to more breaks and tries then anything if you ask me. We are and have been one of the worst teams in this area, even though we have improved slightly this season. I would love to name and shame them. It drives me bonkers and I would welcome getting some revenge back from these merkins that turn me into a raving lunatic every weekend.

You merkins know who you are. The 'Name and Shame' Stat is what it should be called or(NAS).

Also there should be a stat for merkins that give up on their teammates and don't back them up in attack or don't know how to position themselves in an attacking raid. That should be called the 'I'm A Dumb Fu*ker, I Don't Know You' stat or(IADFIDKY).

Again so many opportunities that go missing, even though yes pou I know we have the best stats attack in the NRL. But the best offensive and defensive team in the NRL is still the Panthers, because they are all connected defensively and never give up on their team mates in attack. The whole team is plugged in and moving in tandem all the time. Every player is a threat all the time. They may not be the best team player for player, but they are the best drilled team in the NRL by a long shot.

The stat for not doing stuff is the inverse of the stat for doing stuff. In this case you are thinking of support runs. Fewer support runs per minute means the player is not supporting his team mates very often: https://www.nrl.com/stats/players/?competition=111&season=2023&stat=1000015
