Schoupp isn't the most exciting name to be linked to.
To his credit, he is only 22 and has played almost 50 NRL games in his 3 seasons to date. A genuine fringe first grader.
If we were to pick him up, I'd be hoping that the coaching staff would be looking to transform him into a second rower in the off-season. He's a big boy, he'd have to be over 100kgs already, runs decent lines and plays a physical kind of game.
Yeah could work, but I would first like to see what he looked like in a quality team that plays on the front foot more often. Maybe he has been a victim of being in bad rosters to often and all he needs is some consistent forward moving teams that have a settled halves and overall spine combination and can feed him good early ball.
I must admit that he hasn't had that even at the Titans who are a Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde team. I'm willing to wait on my overall opinion on him, but remember Tepai Moeroa could also look decent at times, especially with his tackling rate, but tackling is only noticed by dumb, dumb fans like pou, who ignore the highlight and spectacular parts of the game. The game is not that one dimensional and you need more strings to your bow, especially in the backs then just being a decent tackler or grunt worker.
