well the low IQ response would be the ongoing sledge that offers no real detail in the reasoning behind our loss of form..

generally they're the more frustrated fans.
Aggghhhhh yes us frustrated fans with our low IQ responses. Should have said something really intelligent like blaming Covid, Uncle Nick, the Fox commentator’s or just plain bad luck huh???

This is like Dogs fans still blaming Hasler.
Hagan was over 15yrs ago. He is not the reason our juniors suck. Juniors come down to money spend and development. It was well know Fitzgerald publicly said also he has become sick of developing kids only to be stolen. So he reduced funding.

Even if Hagn was to blame that only holds any weight for 5yrs MAX. Not 16yrs later

I think the proof is in how long it is taking to get things back on track - Fitzgerald pulled the funding, Hagan was happy to watch it all blow to hell, and in between, we've had nobody intent on addressing it.

Don't forget that since the Fitzy, and Hagan days, we've had coaches that were either not interested (Stuart), or incompetent (Kearney), and administrators who only cared to get re-elected.

It's only really in the last 5 years, or so, that we've had stability in our coaching ranks, and in our administrative department.

If it's such a simple fix, it would have been done; this club is starved of success.

no mate, he's just a bit more measured in his criticism than others, having spoke to the bloke recently I can tell you he's raging..

I'd rather everything go wrong in the same season then drip fed over a heap.
We have possitive

Grieg , Morretti, Bryce's form. It's not all doom and gloom. This season however is shot

Not over until it's over. Closest competition ever. People who say things can't be done, are getting knocked over by people doing it..
Enjoy the games. If you don't enjoy them, find something else to do.

Penrith, Brisbane and Souths seem quite ahead of everyone. Storm may be only ones who fire up. Rest are probably making numbers

It has already gotten back on track. We won SG ball and made the NYC grand final in 2017. That under 20s team produced quite a few first graders and most of them had been poached from elsewhere. That's a sign of good funding. What put a stop to prolonged funding was Covid, but we seem to be recovering from that too, with our SG Ball win this year.
Don't forget that since the Fitzy, and Hagan days, we've had coaches that were either not interested (Stuart), or incompetent (Kearney), and administrators who only cared to get re-elected.
The thing is that since Brian Smith (and Hagan was at the tail end of that period), junior development isn't the coach's job. That stuff was done by head coaches in the 90s because otherwise it was left in the hands of unpaid volunteers. Smith and Gould revolutionised the professionalism of junior development and now it is done by dedicated staff, at every NRL club. What separates them now isn't whether or not anyone 'cares' but how much money clubs can afford to spend on it.

I think this is the key thing. The stable administration has allowed us to recover from Covid quickly and funnel more cash into rugby league when the cash is available. Stability in coaching is overrated. Clubs have general managers to ensure strategic continuity. The importance of coaching stability to that depends on how involved the head coach is. At bigger clubs with more to spend on football and coaching staff, the head coach is more like the GM. Where clubs devote fewer resources to coaching there is a greater burden on the head coach to be hands on with the NRL team. Basically, not all head coaches have all the same responsibilities. At some clubs their job is closer to what a GM does while at others they just coach, with football staff doing the strategic stuff.
