Parramatta Eels NSW Cup captain Jordan Rankin has announced his retirement and will become the Head Coach for the Parramatta Eels Jersey Flegg program in 2024.

Its interesting someone mentioned to me yesterday how the Cowboys, Souths & us all made the prelim final at a minimum last year and along with the broncos the last teams to be given a bye this season.

Because of that these 4 teams are the last 4 teams to have a bye in the last month of the season.

Was it factor on why those teams bar the Broncs have struggled this year.

You look at us, souths & cowboys are limping to the finish line and all 3 teams have had a poor 5/6 weeks at the back-end of the season.

Something to ponder i suppose it may just be a coincidence.

The NRL certainly did a crap job to even out the byes this year it was beyond ridiculous.

But has the last round bye seen as an advantage actually helped.
