From an insider at the dogs when Pritchard was there he was kind of the unofficial captain of the 'bros' . They all looked up to him and he was def a leader.
correct, he was very respected in the dogs playing group and co-captained the dogs at one point, hes spoken in high regard by just about everybody at the dogs

I'd say it's mostly symbolic (maybe they have some extra duties) but symbols are very important in the context of human interaction. Making someone an official leader changes the dynamic. So when someone is told to pull their head in by the leader/commander/manager/assmaster, they are less likely to say "Mind your own f**king business you twig merkin."
Are you saying its some type of sexually based group?

Au contraire... I was right about Hayne all along.

And see below for how Mannah's naming as co-captain may actually make it more likely he starts from the bench...

Mannah's in decline, and we all know it.
BA doesn't know that Mannah is in decline, he just re-signed him till 2019.

You'd hope they'd be looking down at his cock, unless they are on their knees polishing it.

But that's not possible - phantom said Mannah is in decline! Why on earth would the guy who coaches him week in and out re-sign him???

Someone really should tell Gurr that Arthur has NFI.

One of their duties is to discipline other players when they are naughty, we often hear that if some one has been naughty it is reported they the disciplinary measures were decided by the leadership group.

Not sure what else they do tho

Mannahs not in decline.Just hasnt become any better since his 2nd year.

The last 3 yrs have been hard as his brothers loss and last season a lot of injury. I expect this to be one of Tims better years thou its not like he will turn into an origin bolter. Just do his 9 - 5 job

Some of you guys are f**ked. Tim Mannah is the quintessential clubman. Every club has one. His productivity for his price is more than adequate. His leadership qualities are an added bonus.

Alex Twal will be our next similar type of player as is Tim Mannah as was Nathan Cayless.

I love Timmy, and I hope he plays his career out with us. But, it would not surprise me to see him start at least some games from the bench. He's been averaging in the 30-odd minutes per game for a few seasons now.

Watching your younger brother die of cancer is going to take a while to get past. Suprised he has held up so well.
Sure, I agree. I think he's done amazingly in those intervening years, all things considered.

But it's time to stop pretending that on form he's a fixture in our starting team. He'll provide adeqaute "clubman" service in the next three seasons, but mostly from the bench during that period - maybe with the start of this season excepted.

I don't know why you think the starting team is such a big deal. Kenny Edwards is one of our best attacking forwards and he almost never starts.
Agree ... the main criteria for most nrl coach in a starting prop is good defence and no frills safety for the start of the game .... i think mannah still satisfies that
