Rumours and Stuff

I'll throw a better response together to this great post when I get on the PC.

But how embarrassing is it that not one of our players were up for any awards at the Dally Ms last night. They need to use that as motivation and want to be better individual then anyone else on that position in the league.

This is not just for men but women as well.

That's exactly what was going through my mind as I was watching it too.

Reading between a lot of blurry and rumour lines it sounds like Saunders might stay next year, straight into five eight, so a left foot kick to help Moses.
Brown to fullback to hopefully provides some Walsh broncos spark at the back and Gutho to centre.
Give me Corey Oates on the wing and I would take that backline.
Granted we don’t know how good Saunders will be as he is young and unproven but he could not of done much more as a junior and his defence looks solid.
Worth a try I think.

That sounds very unlikely

Saunders is contracted next year anyway but the spine re-vamp might be subject to him agreeing to an extension.

in terms of Oates, if I'm reading between the lines there the club refuses to get into any sore of bidding war or even counter offers from outside backs so I wouldn't even bother going there.

I wouldn't be against the spine re-vamp..

Not sure on Oates though Russel has impressed me and keeps getting better on the wing and Oates wont join us to play Cup.

Saunders into our top 17 next season...? I highly doubt it, would be very un-Arthur like to give a young half more than a 10min bench cameo.

Though maybe for 2025 onwards with a reshuffle then (as a carrot for a long extension)?

Given you called him Saunders twice, I don’t think I trust this post

well he did it with Drown and he hadn't even played a game of reggies...although unlikely, it's possible.

why would you move our best player from his best position ?

If it gets Brown more involved in attack that would be a good move it would also fix an issue with our center defense plus Gutho isn't getting any younger so he plays at Centre for 2 seasons then leaves to Greener pastures.

Plus it keeps a Junior at the club who will develop into our 7 when Moses leaves in 3-4 years then you have the option to slip Brown back into 6.

Or it could all go to shit and by round 8 its all reset..

Would be very poor use of the cap to have Gutho at centre with the amount of money he’s on. Also we’d be missing out on having the best defensive half in the front line if Drown was moved to fullback.

not necessarily, he would still be an integral part of the side, great leader, great competitor and can still slot any where in backline.

you may be correct regarding our defensive half but i suppose that's the price we may need to pay if we want to give the kid an opportunity to develop at our club.

He could do a job for sure. He is a state of origin centre (and utility :p). I just don’t think we would have spent the reported in excess of 850k on Gutherson to play in the centres if there was a better centre option available.
