The stats agree with you from the perspective of 2021 (however he was better than every merkin's favourite one-that-got-away Tom Opacic) but in 2022 and 2023 he wasn't in the top 50 for errors per game.

Opacic did have poor hands in his first season with us, but his excellent defence more than made up for it, imo.

Defence has been a weakness of ours for some time, and I don't think Harper's signature is a wise move.

I don't mind our 2024 squad. Spines good enough and the packs decent. A couple of guys like Betham and Mataele with a big off season could also explode. Morretti and Grieg are two more who could really go up a level.

My only issue is hooker, centre and wing. Sivo and Russel are capable but I am not convinced on either.
Simmonson is just average. Fine if in a quality backline but he isnt. He actually isn't that much worse then who we have. Penisini is solid but not a word beater at this point.
Our 2-5 lack skill and speed. If we landed a gun centre I'd be happy. At this stage we just need to hope Sivo has a big season and Penisini and Russel go up a level.

I'm not sure this team would use a quality centre properly, tbh.

I am confident that if Penisini went to the Panthers, he'd be the best centre in the game.

Who knows if we got an absolute workhorse winger, it may drag Sivo along for the ride.

I don't think he would get to Crightons level. I'd put Herbie and Katoni above him also based on their speed.
Penisini is strong and smart but he didn't go to another level yet. I think it may come but unsure his going to reach their level. He doesn't have to tho. If he improves each season over the next 2yrs he'll still be quite good
