I dont know. Maybe it does.I believe their contracts indicate they can't play other sports doesn't it?

My boss has never been able to control what I do during my holidays.
I have skiied, whitewater rafted, scuba-dived, 4WD'd and a few other not so safe activities.
Why do we think the club can control what the players do while on leave?
Not really even Pou has posted our spending has gone up in the last few seasons in the football department. Which itself should show we are a too Tier side.
Our Juniors have gone up in participation we have better structure coming through.
We have been finishing high in our Flegg Ball and Matt's sides. Elite pathways has been getting better and is almost on par with the Riff now.
Membership is up Gronk posted how we are the highest rating team in Sydney. All these
All these factors and the demographic of Parramatta tells you we are a too Tier side that has been playing in the mid table.
There is alot of information available showing we are and should be a top Tier Side.
Agree 100% on your point about them losing in 2021 would paint this Panthers dynasty in a very different light.I would argue if we beat them in 2021 semi final as we should have.
We could have ended there dynasty before it started. And history might look very different.
Ivan Cleary was under so much pressure leading into that final - the media were into him about how no coach had coached so many games before winning a premiership in the history of the game.
He got school by Wayne Bennett the previous week and after 2 complete years of dominance to back door in straight sets in the semi finals after losing a combined 4 games in 2 seasons would have been a disaster.
And a lot of soul searching perhaps self doubt would have crept in as well that they couldn't handle the pressure of September.

You may be right.I dont know. Maybe it does.
(q) not, without the prior written consent of the Club, which the Player acknowledges will only be given with the consent of the Group, participate in any football match of any code other than matches referred to in sub-Clause 3.1(s); (r) without limiting sub-Clauses 3.1(s) or 3.1(t), not participate in any sporting or leisure activities other than matches approved by the Club and the Group pursuant to sub-Clause 3.1(t) except where: (i) the chances of injury are unlikely; (ii) such will not otherwise limit his ability to perform his obligations under this Agreement; except with the prior written consent of the Club
My comment had nothing to do with whether I do or dont play a contact sport. It was about what limitations an employer can place on an employee within their annual leave period.Yeah Thats great and if you believe you and Barlow playing a contact sport is the same then enjoy..
You're 24 hours late merkin.Just curious
Did you start following Parramatta BECAUSE you regard them as perennial losers who deserve no more than mediocrity - or was that just a happy accident for you?
The revolution has begun. I am happy to report that the Tigers have hit rock bottom and are now on the rise.
Meanwhile while the civil war continues on here at Parra LU between warring tribes.
Over the fence at concord things may explode again.
Was extended as director, not as chairman. Everything is pending the review.
That was also your GF. Penrith were already locked in to play the big games. Not saying Parra didn’t play well, but just nothing really for Penrith too.Thats what is frustrating we know when we play our best we can beat everyone. Round 26 this year missing Moses we beat the full squadeded Panfers.
Its that we cant be consistent and also step up come finals as (we for some reason don't treat finals as any different to a normal season game)
How is having nothing to play for our grand final? Our grand final was in October 2022 and we failed miserably. That was also your GF. Penrith were already locked in to play the big games. Not saying Parra didn’t play well, but just nothing really for Penrith too.
Maybe he organised a boxing bout contrary to his new contract?

@Tiger5150
What's going on Chairman Lee didn't read the fine print with his extension.
Player options increase the value to the player, meaning you can pay less per year. It is the opposite with club options.Wouldn't surprise we don't mind bending over and accepting clauses in contracts.
Dylan Brown, Moses comes to mind already.
It feels like the tail is wagging the dog at this joint sometimes.
You can't tell me the well run clubs allow these Player option clauses in there players contracts.
In the army you need permission to play outside sports and also to have a second job. It all depends on your employment contract. My boss has never been able to control what I do during my holidays.

I have since found a contract that may limit extra-curricular activities for football players, which obviously my employment contract wouldnt include.

The new board after being elected set up the football club for financial stability without a leagues club grant and they succeeded and the leagues club were able to navigate through Covid.
The club then approached the Board and suggested that as things had stabilised , their charter was to support rugby league. That has seen the investment from the leagues club targeted on juniors , pathways and available to support the football club expenditure if needed.
So we have seen the formation of North and South development teams , and appointments in junior resources which are now bearing fruit. Takes a bit of time but think we are probably a bit ahead of schedule given recent results and the development and identification of the junior reps and squads , local, interstate and some overseas. Hopefully that continues and we see further success, certainly looks good in development, funny that we need to see more success and targeted positions in NRL signings.
They were so looking forward to the finals and not caring about regular season games anymore they played basically their full strength teams the last two rounds instead of taking the opportunity to rest players.Panfers were playing for the JJ shield still
