Wow very similar. It looks like the big difference was the resources Gould brought to the club in 2012. They have exploded in the last decade.

Hopefully we are doing something similar now.
Money = success.

Do you think that's why Gus bailed on NZ and went to the Dogs ? Cos the chances of long term success are realistically directly proportional to how much cash you put in ?

To counter all the overheated nonsense of the last few pages, the real point is if we go into 2024 with the same backline as 2023 we will again have a tough year.

The resources are there, and the failure to find a better than average centre in the past 2 off seasons borders on incompetence, we still have an unbalanced roster with basically too few backline players. That falls back on the recruitment team, as someone said previously, we need the NRL R&R to catch up with the junior scouting and signings. Did they not notice that even if the forward battles are won, it’s more than necessary to have someone who can take the ball 60/70 metres to score, failure to enter the race to sign those that came on the market previously is incompetent.

I’ll wait for Pou to inform us all that it’s resources or similar rather than knowing what’s needed :(

I reckon there’s a pretty decent chance that’s true.
He would have thought about the massive junior base they would have over there, then when he signed on saw that they weren’t prepared to throw money at putting the systems in place, he got out of there quick.

No way he’s going to let a club ruin his reputation by not chucking money around.
