Yet "All hail the mighty and powerful Gus"
Just proves how hit and miss it is going all in on juniors. Yep I hope the kid recovers well but surely theres some Gus Spin between the lines. Get better kid and make them pay you every last penny.
The dogs fans are losing patience fast.

They aren't used to spending close to a decade in the bottom 4.

It's going to be fascinating to watch if they flop again next year. Ciraldo who was supposedly the next super coach will be lucky to survive.

I have so much respect for Mal Meninga it is not funny.
This group of players gave me a new perspective of the quality of outstanding young men involved in the game today.
Nothing wrong with this group of role models.....

It will be extremely interesting. Cant wait. Maybe he is, only good for issuing nicknames and sunglasses. Cleary dosent appear to miss him too much. Id say a make or break year for Ciraldo or Gus may think hes looking tired. Again if he struggles I hope he drags every last cent out of The Dogs.

Teddy didn't play for Australia until he joined the chooks in 2018.

Mal left him out of the 2017 world cup squad so Teddy had to play for Italy.
You are of course correct.....so Teddy only got RLPA player of the year and NSW fullback. Clearly an injury ravaged has been.

Rugba leeg did nothing for him and has continued to do so. Qld job for 10 years and probably aus coach for just as long by the time he gets the boot. With no HIA when he was playing this may have clouded his judgement.
He is a painstaking on fox on super Saturdays.. at times cringeworthy. Admittedly watching Roiders when parra were rubbish for a very long time kept me interested in Leeg.
That arm always in a cast was a secret weapon as was the sheer size of him when some outside backs were deadset 80kgs...
Big mal was a beast...just not a great communicator

You're wrong...He is a great communicator, and the players LOVE him. I said to Brett White how close knit the 'boys were', and he put that down to the culture Mal has in place for his team. You would not find a more humble person, or someone who loves what he is contributing to sport and society.

Maybe he should try Politics Pete?

Lol. Can't string 3 words on Super Saturdays..
Maybe I should've said analyst/ commentator.
Don't let the truth get in the way of a good story. Your loyalty is very admirable though

Teddy was the RLPA Player of the year, Australian fullback, NSW fullback in his last year at the Tigers when Roosters signed him.....but yeah kinda the same thing....I guess?
Yeah, and these merkins would have said he was busted and not worth it because of a couple of injuries.

I’ve met Mal before as well. An absolute gent. He might be pretty ordinary in front of a camera but he’s clearly pretty handy at building a positive team culture.

A couple of injuries?
By the time he gets back on the park he will have played 3 games in about 3 years.
Signing up Teddy after he had come back from his injuries and shown he can still play at the highest level is not the same as signing a bloke who has barely played in two years and is currently injured with another long-term injury.

He may come back eventually and be a good player, however he is still a risky signing. We are not a club who should be taking those kind of risks these days.

We are pretty desperate for someone quality to improve that backline somewhere, we’d be crazy to not at least considerate it just because he might not be good. He probably adds more to our side on one leg then Morgan Harper does on two.

Don’t forget RPapz has had his share of head-knocks as well. I think that has been forgotten a bit after the kneecap and leg injuries.

The time off from those would have done him the world of good but I think the concussion threat may be the biggest concern of all for him moving forward.

Well for starters he’s a fullback, and we are well covered in that area at the moment. I agree that we need to improve the backline, but that’s in the centres and possibly wing.

Just saying that he’s better than Morgan…well we don’t know that. He might never play again for all we know. And we won’t be able to medically retire him because it’s a pre-existing injury.

I disagree TS, I think we need to take a risk. Doing the same as what we have been has got us only so far, if we keep playing it safe nothing will change. Whether or not Paps is the right risk, I don’t know. Personally he seems the type to not take short cuts. His character is first class.

Taking a risk on a player like Cartwright is fine. He’s not going to f**k up your cap for years. We can take risks, but not huge ones (like the Sandow signing) that will affect us for years and put us on the bottom of the ladder. We’ve had one bad season (in which we were still competitive) in the last 5 years. We don’t need to take huge risks…we need to make smart decisions.

Our biggest risks was Jnr and Rcg. Both start the season aged 30. And have 3 more seasons.
To be fair it probably isn't the worse risk. They will be 32 in their final year. It's possible both drop off in form dramatically but that would probably be more due mentally. I still can't see either being considered for NSW by 2026.

Our possitives is we have two good halves. That's the hardest spots to fill. Nearly every other position a few players come from nowhere every season to be stars. Look at wing this year. Nobody would of expected DWZ,ISAKAO,TURUVA,Dom YOUNG to be 4 of the better ones this year.

It would all come down to what he would cost.
