"He was reportedly a surprise omission from this year’s under 19s NSW State of Origin side, but many experts believe he is one of Parramatta’s best up and coming juniors."

Maybe they should be asking our experts.
Well the guys on THE TCT think he’s Superman. Some of them have even called him the next Harry Grant. Must be a superstar.

Good luck to MA. By the way Nick Lenaz is about to sign for Manly.

I reckon it’s between us and the Dragons in relation to Papenhuyzen assuming the rumour is true. If we miss out we could go after Sloan as he wants to play fullback or Lomax because he is on big coin and wants to play there too. I still reckon he is a centre and not a fullback.

I know the club rate Apa Twidle and he should be ready by the time Gutherson’s contract is up. That’s the only reason why we possibly won’t sign a young fullback and I understand their thinking. All these thoughts of moving Gutherson from his position is silly talk in my opinion especially moving him to centre. He has too much to give as a fullback with his ball playing and defence.

Poor Nick going to Many right now will be the end of his NRL career. Should get into Panthers if he wants to make it..

AT is a decent player in the Gutho mold. I can see him coming through playing wing till Gutho retires.

Yeah he’s done. Would have lovers him before those injuries. He’s be slower than Gutho now. Sign the young fullback up from the storm. Throw the kitchen sink at him and watch men struggle with the cap.
You merkins probably would’ve argued against the Roosters signing Tedesco after his legs exploded while playing for the Tigers.

Went down and watched the Kangaroos train in Lavington (Albury) this sarvo, and caught up and had a good yarn with Mal. What a great ambassador for Rugby League and Australia. Every player in the squad came up to me and introduced themselves - they treated me like as long lost friend, and made this old bloke very happy. I had a 'team photo' with them, and that will become a prized possession.
Mal is a good mate, and what he did for me, and what he does for Rugby League is AMAZING. A true immortal in every sense of the word

Nice story mate. I ran into the big man at a shopping centre in Canberra. He was picking up his wife's shoes from the repairer🤣 Couldn't have been more generous with his time. Shook hands with him and his massive hand nearly broke mine in half.

I disagree. I think him being named an immortal was tokenistic. Brett Kenny, Ray Price and Peter Sterling all deserved it more than him. I’d argue at origin level that Gene Miles was every bit as good as him.

I also remember when he once said that ‘Rugby League did nothing for me’ or words to that effect during the Super League War and let’s not forget his 10 second political career.

Mal was a great player but in my opinion he should not have been named an immortal.

Apologies in advance, Pete. I appreciate he is a mate and you’re a loyal bloke but he is overrated in my humble opinion.

Didn't Mal once say Rugby League gave him nothing.

Considering the Dogs paid a 500k transfer fee in January. I don't think they would try and get rid of him now.
Yet "All hail the mighty and powerful Gus"
Just proves how hit and miss it is going all in on juniors. Yep I hope the kid recovers well but surely theres some Gus Spin between the lines. Get better kid and make them pay you every last penny.

Rugba leeg did nothing for him and has continued to do so. Qld job for 10 years and probably aus coach for just as long by the time he gets the boot. With no HIA when he was playing this may have clouded his judgement.
He is a painstaking on fox on super Saturdays.. at times cringeworthy. Admittedly watching Roiders when parra were rubbish for a very long time kept me interested in Leeg.
That arm always in a cast was a secret weapon as was the sheer size of him when some outside backs were deadset 80kgs...
Big mal was a beast...just not a great communicator

Teddy was the RLPA Player of the year, Australian fullback, NSW fullback in his last year at the Tigers when Roosters signed him.....but yeah kinda the same thing....I guess?
