I was there that day and we got smashed as you can see by the score. My father bought me a first scorer ticket and I had Raper and I think it was Wright. Raper scored the first try and very late in the game Parra received a penalty right in front. They gave the ball to Wright which made me excited. Unfortunately the ball never got off the ground. Boy that Stgeorge team were great.

Sorry to be a smart arse about it..But games like these stick in my memory...I was 14 at the time, and went to the game with a group of mates (as we did for a long time). It was an UNUSUAL occasion as it was the FIRST TIME that Parra had been allocated MATCH OF THE DAY status at SCG...

Yes. He had a history of poor behaviour..he should of been sent packing far before he was. But at the sametime we haven't replaced his aggression in the side.

It depends on expectations.
There was NOTHING better than watching Ken Thornett in action -NOTHING
I got the same enjoyment watching the team of the eighties, Jarryd Hayne, Semi Radradra and King Gutho play.....blokes who are match-winners in their own right, and play their hearts out, week in, week out.....

They actually had more than one good season though, Tim Smith looked like the second coming of Christ then shat the bed and became some nobody who will only be remembered by us merkins as a what could’ve been.
