In saying that when it comes to surnames.

Quinton De Kock the cricketer for South Africa takes the cake.

Can you imagine the amount of shit talk and jokes you would have copped growing up with a surname of De Kock.

I remember watching a Super Rugby game back in the day (I have no idea why, pretty sure I had been punching cones) and it was two Saffa teams and I swear to god there was a De Kock in one team and a De Puusy (can't remember the exact spelling) in the other team.

Great times.

He doesn’t need to get worse to not be in our 30 “top 30 quality” players because currently he isn’t in it, Moretti has gone past him, potentially Mataele too.
In order to get back into it, he needs a combination of either him getting better (possible but on display so far less likely, plus others are just as likely to get better at the same rate) and others getting worse (possible but apparently players can’t get worse).
Top 30 quality just means good enough for the top 30. And while there are players on top 30 contracts who aren't good enough, some clubs have more than 30 players of top 30 quality. If sufficient merkins have overtaken Momoisea for him to be outside the top 30 then we have become such a club. This would be validation of our investment in junior 'development'.

But Momoisea has 60+ reserve grade games under his belt along with 11 games in first grade. For a bloke who's just turned 25 that is absolutely the profile of a top 30 player. Moretti and Mataele also fit the profile. You're talking as though there's room in the top 30 for every merkin bar Momoisea. His utility value alone demands a place. Besides his seven games off the bench he played prop/lock and wing, as well as three positions in between.
