I had always thought that Clearly wasn’t that much better than Moses, the Grand Final changed that. The gap between Cleary and the next best half back is pretty big at this point.

Huge wraps on Riley Smith a few years ago. Not sure why he fell out of favor with us. I love Kenny, but Cameron Smith he aint. Will be interesting to see how he goes with you lot.

Penrith forum suggest Penrith went cold on him and was about 5th or 6th in pecking order. Hopefully they got it wrong. Like Hopgood. Yes I know they rated him but they had to find a spot for him.

The NRL needs us. We are the team that holds the competition together. Massive Sydney supporter base that drags in the dollars for the NRL and the media alike. The fact that we've become perennial losers only churns out more income for the overlords, and we're giving it to them for free. Why wouldn't they want a high profile team in the comp that never wins but keeps on giving?

Josh Hodgson is on the coaching staff as well.

I expect him to make more of a positive impact here then on field.

His knowledge and experience should help all young dummy halves coming through.

I’ll accept he was “top 30 quality” this year, but I reckon heading into next season he’s dropped behind his relative replacements and would need a marked improvement for your “top 30 quality” comment to remain.

If he’s top 30 quality at 25 he still will be at 26. His position in the depth chart is irrelevant to discussions around his playing ability.

Apparently was selected in the Australian schoolboys side after also representing Australia in the under 18's cricket team....a feat not done since the great Rabbitoh Bronko Djura did it back in the 1980's...

We only used 31 players this year, including the two Arthurs, who each played only one game. Momoisea played three.

Eels commence 2024 pre-season training

The Eels' 2024 pre-season kicked off with the first batch of players reporting for duty at Eels HQ on Monday.

Ogden and Lumelume were there today so I assume you can lock them in for next year.

Laney is there, Brendan Hands, Haze Dunster as well.

I suppose more of the senior players will trickle in.

Has Laney taken it upon himself to arrive back early showing some leadership. Or was he in the 1st batch with the young ones.
