As this forums philosopher and rapporteur for the advancement of women rights stated correctly, its a violent sport for violent and simple men. EVERY club has a percentage of violent/stupid merkins. Personally however I think that violence against women is a line in the sand that should never be crossed and a club shouldnt sign or play a player guilty of it. I would hand in my membership if the club signed a player guilty of violence against a woman.

I agree. A conviction for violence against women should be a life ban. I’d go as far as to say a conviction for violence against anyone should be a lengthy ban.

There are ALWAYS contexts. Not all acts of violence (against men or women) are the same. In my job I've seen some perpetrators of violence against women who I think should be taken out the back and shot. Just scum animals. But there are others where I've seen extremely extenuating circumstances. You just can't tar everyone with the same brush. As long as we keep doing that, we'll never solve this horrible domestic violence problem.

Tigers sacked Lui the first time he was convicted. He had been previously accused of DV but charges were dismissed. Innocent until proven guilty and all that.
