The Tigers will have to shed a few players if they gain Luai’s services for 2025.
I don't think they will be shedding the one or two quality backs we need. I would take Klemmer at the right price though if he were to become available. He is a guaranteed quality improvement for our front row rotation and with Emu also that would make for some real fresh and nasty pack domination that would be unrelenting.
I know many would say that we don't need him but I would say they are mistaken. Junior at his best is elite, but what if his best is behind him and he can only produce 30 min spells of real quality. Klemmer is the insurance and even if Junior regains is mojo that would only make us even more dominating and no other pack in the NRL would be able to withstand the 80 mins barrage up front that these four would bring tag teaming in each game and we would have the luxury of starting different ones for different games that best suits our needs and game tactics. Hahaha...tactics? Potato Head only has one tactic, but this would actually be what he has always wanted but never quite understood how to get or implement.
Now that is the way I would play a power game. Four front rowers of beastly ability and always fresh and ready to rumble. The rest of the forwards like Matto, Lane and Cartwright would thrive with the space they find out wide and add Hopgood and his tireless work and offloads and you can see where it's going.
Our weakness out wide then becomes less problematic and they too will benefit from the oppositions tiring and fatigue trying to contain the beasts up front. Our dummy half no matter who it is will also find more opportunities to play trick shots with the Gorilla's or Gutho in support or even run himself. Now wouldn't that be novel.
I'll tell you who is surplus to requirements...Offa. If we got someone like Klemmer, I would not be against offering him up to whoever wants or needs him.
Front rowers win big games. Period...and we are this close. I can dream can't I?
