Rumours and Stuff

Strangely enough, the players seem more comfortable with the coaches than the posters on social media. We apparently have a committee system for R&R coupled with a very cautious and dogmatic HOF, the roster has looked vulnerable in the backs for 2/3 seasons and despite having some interest we appear to watch targeted players sign elsewhere.
Everyone likes a boss that's easy on them, doesn't hold you accountable, let's you have alot of say in what happens and still let them collect their big pay packets.

They get to enjoy their life without a boss adding stress to them. The worse is a Tiger boss.

Titans now seem to have way too much outside back depth. To me this seems to be the titans getting in early as they're aware of the whispers going around at the moment of the displeasure of Brimson that Des wants to move him to the centres. I expect very shortly he will be the first player to be moving to a new club, which would be the first of many as all of the information I have been hearing is that a few clubs are willing to start letting players go but just do not want to seem weak being the first to do it. Come Christmas time I am expecting alot of player movement to begin and Parra are 100% a club who are waiting for certain players to become available to start negotiations (clubs are more cautious now than before due to the new strictness of punishment of talking to contracted players). I am very well informed that Ice is certainly one of those players that there is a strong mutual interest in. I won't say too many names as I am not 100% certain of truthfulness to all of them (though I am still very confident just not locked in), though I will share this. The dogs are trying to clear cap desperately. Do not be surprised if an outside back is to be made available very soon, and with Parra currently trying to clear some space on the roster, if a deal can be made it will be made.

Why trigger the club option on ogden?

Interesting with Brimson.

Only 2 teams really need a fullback in the Dragons (Sloan is Injured and Lomax isnt a fullback)

Or Raiders with Rapana or Kris.

He could take a pay cut and try his hand at 5/8 at the Riff if he really wanted out of the Titans.

Well i think its pretty obivous who the outside back is at Canterbury that's trying to move on.

Gus is just waiting for a deal that suits him he isn't going to give him away for nothing.

I personally do not understand the decision, even though I actually do think he is a decent footballer. From what I have heard is that he is not someone the Eels are looking to get rid of this upcoming season. Obviously Jirah is someone who could find himself looking for other options whether in the NRL or super league if anybody shows any interest. I heard a few whispers a few months ago about matterson potentially being thrown up as a player we would be willing to let go of, though I do think that has died off especially after the JAC rumours. Makatoa was another player that was an being looked at from overseas though now that he got injured I do not expect anything to happen unless it comes during next season

I agree with you, I don't think many teams are desperate at the moment for a fullback and I believe some teams would be hesitant for him at 6. Though lets not forget how good he can be, when a player of that quality goes to the market there will be interest for sure. I wouldn't rule the dolphins or the dogs out of chasing him if he becomes available as both of their likely fullbacks of next year are probably 2 of the best centres in the competition in Critta and Hammer. And who knows, maybe playing centre doesn't seem so bad at a club like the Broncos (doubt this highley due to cap though)

Papali'i issue is defense and mobility. Best in the middle but we have that area covered.
I think Papali'i would be completely wasted in the middle. Would basically become Joffa. The problem with Ice at Tigers is he needs a halfback that gives him the ball at the gap as he hits it. Brooks fed him early ball all year and Papali'i had to do too much work (pretty much the opposite for Bateman). Hopefully with new halves we can use Ice better this year.

I believe the Tigers would need to use a half with pace and patience to truely unlock Ice with alot of support play ffor his offloads. Could be Bud?

It doesn't do much for your reputation when a back to back spoon team who signed you to a 3/4 year deal to turn their fortunes around want to get rid of you after just 1 season.... I've never really thought he played to his price tag tbh. His best footy was probably when he was on his lowest salary... As his salary went up, his performance went steadily down IMO. Not terrible by any stretch, but not elite like his pay packet would indicate...

For the sake of accuracy, Tigers have come out and said they arent shopping Klemmer, they were approached by another club. They didnt announce who it was but it was Bulldogs.

Klemmer wasnt elite this year but he had a great season. Averaged 140m per game, high defensive workrate. Not an impact prop get a lot of quality work done. A keeper. Good for the young guys too.
