The downside of having Hayne at fullback is that we will be guaranteed to waste one of our quality players in the backline that are playing great footy.Hayne would be able to get HUGE TPA's.If you landed Hayne at anything under 850k it would be a steal. We where paying Foran 1.2 million.
It would be a waste having Foran/Norman together. Foran was chased before Norman went up 3-4 notches to elite. Plenty on here wanted Norman sacked after his first year.
Hayne IMO is not all about the money. He loves the attention and he could be looked as the Messiah of Parra.
Their favourite son returns.
The best outcome would be if we could get him for a great price with huge TPA's
I am not sure why people want him at 6 thou.It would be a huge risk considering he has not really played there and his best position is fullback. And id be happy to have Bevan on the wing for 2 years before he makes the switch. The last thing you want is Hayne trying to become the dominant half and starving Norman of the ball and him going into his shell.
Bevo goes to wing, ok, What happens to Gutho? centre you say? What happens to Jennings? Taka? All 4 of these guys deserve to be in the starting 13, but there is only 5 spots on the back line, and we have 5 now for next year.
Honestly Hayne at 6, while risky, is the best way to slot him into the team with as little disruption as possible. That's the open spot that we don't really have a viable player around to fill.
