Dunster obviously, since he has torn every ligament in his knee since he signed his current deal and would no longer be worth what he is being paid.

Simonsson just had a breakout year and signed in 2021 when his form was not as good. So he is likely providing good value.

Harper signed at the last minute after a season where no other NRL club wanted him. That would make him cheap.

So the only one likely to be on overs is Dunster. Simonsson is likely on unders. Harper is our number five outside back, so you want someone worth more than minimum salary. Bonus if they're only on minimum salary, but we just don't know what Harper would be on. I suspect around $200k, which is minimum salary + f**k all in the context of the salary cap. Russell would be on about the same. Sivo and Penisini would be on decent money, both $400k+
Agreed except overs/unders is indeterminate until their respective contracts are completed and also measured against likelihood of repeating performances, e.g. can Simonsson perform as “well” as this year again, will Dunster underperform as much as this year again?
Also saying Dunster is on overs so therefore we need Harper to fill the same basic role is throwing good money after bad.
Realistically Harper is just replacing Waqa for a lot cheaper probably.
But still we already have Simonsson, Dunster and to lesser extent Russell filling the same level, it would’ve been more encouraging signing someone of higher level (yes salary cap blah blah)

Just f**ken own up to it, coward!
Haha well i would if i did it.

I just don't see the point in abusing posters on the internet. I am a lover not a fighter.

That doesn't mind whinging and demanding higher standards/expectations.

Some posters may irrate and annoy me like some do at times on here especially. And you disagree on stuff.

But i dont see the point in abusing anyone.

You can still have good banter and joke around without personal abuse. Half the time i am joking on here anyway stirring the pot a touch. Doesn't mean its abuse.

I haven't made Pou's ignore list yet so i think my track record is pretty good and i rest my case your honor.

@Avenger the comment about 6 inches above yours.

Since I've linked it, I was interested (flabbergasted) to see a suggestion that Sanders could attract offers of up to 500k per year.

^^^
I’d suggest that come Round 6, we’ll see offers for Sanders from the Raiders or other clubs from $350k to possibly as high as $500K per season.

Of course, I was just talking about this year.

Not really, it was more that we needed another outside back good enough to play every week if required, since we only currently have four of those. Assuming Dunster's form doesn't improve (and at his age it's unlikely).

Agreed, and it's likely Blake's money is already spent elsewhere in the squad. If you're thinking one-to-one, assume most of it went to Penisini's upgrade.

Obviously, but we can't exactly ignore the salary cap. Even the Panthers would have areas of their squad they'd like to improve but can't.

He could be worth $1M+ by 2026 (or not, obviously), so offers of $500k are a reasonable punt for a middling club.

Sure, but you could spend 500 and get a player that’s much less of a risk than Sanders. Pezet springs to mind. Manly have a young one called Humphries who supposedly goes alright but his path is blocked by J Arthur of all people.

I’m clearly in the minority in thinking the Dogs are a very healthy top 8 next year. I just can’t see how they can’t be. I bloody hope they don’t make the 8 but think they’ll go very well as they just have plenty of good players.

They have a great selection of utilities to choose from. They could all change positions every 20mins to confuse their opposition.

I would say Sanders lacks obvious weaknesses (other than experience), which is not the case for Pezet. Though he would be on good money already. I doubt he’d leave Melbourne for only $500k

Humphries offers very little other than speed. He is behind slowpoke Arthur, as you say. Shows the value of speed for a modern playmaker. Nice to have, but not essential like defence and kicking.

Well, good luck to the lad. If I could get 500 a year after not even 10 games in the spares, not even a daily wristy from Gutho could keep me at Kellyville.

They barely have a forward pack.
Halves are very questionable as is Crighton at Fullback. They could click but could be like a bunch of expensive car parts that don't match and just make a lot of noise.
