You live in stats land I will just go on what I see.
Hands is slow and provides zero threat with his running game to the opposition defence.
As I mentioned earlier he has other very good attributes.
Lussick has a better running game.
All semantics, you guys need a Simpkins.......and a Nofoaluma

Observations aren't evidence at all. Evidence is things like statistics and video. Opinions supported by these objective facts are absolutely worth more than opinions unsupported by anything other than subjective observation. You don't need to feel inadequate if you can't be bothered backing up your opinions. Sometimes I can't either. There's no need to constantly attack others who do. It just makes you look petty.

As for your criticism of 'selective' evidence, you are again showing your ignorance. There is no evidence that isn't selective. Evidence is by its nature selective:

"Evidence is factual information used to support a claim or belief. It is information and research selected from the best available sources to support a decision."

In your opinion. Let's go back to the assertion I called you out on with a picture, which seems to have rankled you somewhat...

You are trying to set your opinion on players (based on what you see) above others opinions on players (of what they see) based on - self-admitted - selective choice/use of statistics.

Yep, we seem in agreeance on that, as above

Where we don't agree is where you think that any "selected" evidence makes your opinion better than that of others, whether they also select evidence to support their opinions (which you then spectacularly fail when trying and flip-flop/circular logic your way around to "prove you are right") or whether - like me - they wised up to you ages ago, and simply call you out for sport whenever you try trolling your fellow fans here (for what purpose only the psychologist and yourself might know).

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shut the fu*k both of you!!!

So you’re saying it’s only wrong when I do it?
No, I am not. But I am saying that you don't offer up your opinion on players (and "evidence" for your opinion, if you somehow feel you must) and left it at that - without constantly trying to address your inadequacies by "proving" your opinion on players etc is somehow better than anyone else's here.
I hope you understand now why merkins say I’m living rent free in your head.
I think that phrase has been used here for several years, and has previously used in the reverse - whenever you over-react to a gif or picture in reply to one of your nonsense trolling posts, perhaps?

There's been two good threads all off season.
Then quiz and the which player are you looking forward too.
The rest have been polluted with garbage.
It's the off-season, Pou comes here for an occasional S&M fix when there aren't any game day threads for his "contributions" to cop a similar thrashing.

No, I just pointed out his flaws while merkins were excitedly overrating him. Much like how I pointed out Hodgson's qualities as merkins indulged in the other end of the hyperbole scale.

Hands was decent and Hodgson was decent in 2023. But the way you merkins were carrying on, Hands was an Origin bolter while Hodgson was slow, weak, injury prone, and had forgotten everything he ever knew about dummy half play.
Hodgson WAS slow, weak and injury prone.

I didnt remotely imply Hands was an origin bolter - to use your reductionist hyperbole.

I personally just maintained that Hands was not slow, not weak and not injury prone- therefore an obvious better option.

it’s okay, you can admit that the club made some terrible choices and signings which hurt us last year - it doesn’t mean you can’t still be a parra fan and hope those choices don’t haunt us this year

In my honest opinion I don't think you or your mate has ever cooked on coals. See I am a coal cooker. Unless it's smoked I'm not eating it. You are a fry pan man. So vanilla

@TheRam I bet you cook on coals

'Better' is a vague term. I don't know why you keep using it, though I have some ideas. To some of you idiots, 'better' means more popular. To others it just means it is supported by objective evidence. As you know, I'm not here to win any popularity contest. Neither are you, obviously, though you have taken it upon yourself to speak for the loudest dopes in this place. Maybe you're just a philanthropist?

I'm pretty sure it's only ever used around here about yourself, with your Single White Female levels of obsession with other posters.

Hodgson WAS slow, weak and injury prone.
He certainly wasn't weak, but like most players his age he was injury prone. He was always slow:
The main thing though was that he was a smart, experienced operator at dummy half, which is what we need from our hooker, rather than a bloke whose value comes from running whenever the defence is in disarray. He also worked hard in defence, peaking at 38 tackles in 53 minutes vs the Raiders. That's why he was favoured over Hands. Lussick is a similar player and he is also favoured over Brendan Hands.

The only thing Hands has over Hodgson (other than the fact he isn't retired) is his speed. Which is why Hands was an inferior option.

None of our recruitment/retention choices hurt us last year. We had a weaker squad because we had fewer players on unders than in 2022. Then we underperformed because we had so many top 17 players unavailable. That wasn't the fault of our recruitment/retention team. If we'd kept Mahoney, Papali'i and Niukore we would've been significantly weaker in other areas of the squad. We were stronger in 2022 because we were paying those players less than they were worth. That's the only way we were able to fit them in the team in 2022 and not in 2023. Not because Hodgson came in and took all their combined salaries.

Misogyny as well?
