What if you replace them with the 18th best? Or any number bigger than 18?

Or what if you replace them with the 16th best or higher admin? The point is at least you're making an effort for the possibility of improvement. To do nothing is to always be last and eventually get so bad that it may become a real possibility that you will simply cease to exist.

But of course you know this as I'm sure you just leaned over to the jelly jar and tissue box as soon as you saw my post you demented dirty birdy. How many times does it take for you to re-read this post before you finally explode? No wait, I don't actually want to know. Your silence would be appreciated on this matter. Cheers

Silence is, as they say.......golden.

I’m sure they have to look like they’re doing something. They just shouldn’t expect any major improvement. The club isn’t fundamentally changing even if they sack everyone involved.

We haven’t won a premiership (or even made the finals every year) since Max Donnelly reformed our governance structure and stepped down as Chairman in 2018 - a fundamental change at the club - but we have won at a much higher rate. If we had sacked Brad Arthur after 2018, as many hoped, we would be crediting the improved fortunes on the new coach rather than the improved governance at the highest levels of the club.

But just sacking coaches, football managers or CEOs is just shuffling deck chairs. Are the Roosters strong because of Robinson or their executive staff? I’m sure Politis could get the appropriate resources for whichever management staff he replaced them with. Likewise at the Tigers and Eels.

So if we were able to replace Arthur, O’Neill or Sarantinos with better performers, it would mean that the board had managed to develop the level of resourcing needed to attract the better staff.

This isn’t trolling just because you can’t get your stupid head around it. It’s a reasonable discussion about the fundamental strength of NRL clubs.

Whatever happens this year we should have a plan in place on what to do for 2025 and beyond coaching wise. I’d be instilling that plan by mid season and indicate to BA what the minimum requirement is.

We just can’t keep re-signing him for stability sake if he hasn’t jagged us a premiership. I’d be looking at someone like Holbrook who has already settled back in Sydney , John Morris or even Dean Pay. No more rookies.

Dean Pay won't coach ever again.

He told me 3 years ago after he was punted at the Dogs.

He came and worked at the transport company i was at the time and he was a truck driver.

He got burnt bad there and i think is happily done with RL now.

Tbh, being a coach is a VERY tough gig. I don't envy Brad Arthur's job but obviously there has to be a point where the lack of success means changing the coach.

I'd offer Ivan Cleary 2million a season

Its a very very tough gig being a coach especially when you dont have the structures at the club assisting you.

The last 3 clubs that have won the Competition have been the most professional from the CEO all the way to the ground staff...

It doesn't matter who we bring in if we don't have the structure.
