It's not a random player.. There was suggestions they were looking to offload him at the end of last season. They just resigned their young fullback who they want long term.

Yes, losing a winger is definitely a mitigating factor.

But the ease with which Penrith rolled through the middle is a big problem.

They didn't roll through the middle easily at all until we had Cartwright at left centre and Matterson at right edge forward. These injuries didn't just disrupt our edge defence, they f**ked our middle rotation as well. Last week Matterson played 32 minutes in the middle and Cartwright played 35 minutes in the middle (and 33 on the edge). This week Matterson only played 23 minutes in the middle while Cartwright played zero. That's 44 minutes missing from our middle rotation compared to last week. That would've had a huge impact on our attack and defence.
