We had a lot of problems scoring points last year. And in the GF against Penrith the year before.

The Grand Final was one game, though.

And we did ok in terms of scoring points last year - we scored 587 points last season, which was more than the Raiders, Warriors, and Roosters, who all finished in the 8.

But we conceded 574 points - more than every team in the 8, bar the Raiders.

Everybody says the same thing in RL when their team is struggling. It is always the defense. How much time do you to spend on it? Moses already says we spend 80% of practice time on defense.
the problem is the team gets dominated by the other teams defense. Against the good teams we just can’t create anything and it’s because we don’t practice.

I think if we can learn to defend better, we will beat better teams, simply through forcing them to go away from their structures to try to score.

Penrith were breaking our line at will tonight, which meant they could stick to their structures, and pile on points.

And because our defence is so average, we exert a lot of energy in it, which stifles our attack somewhat.

Penrith breaking our line at will was due to us having kelma on the left edge. I think it’s little unfair to be too Critical as most sides struggle when losing a winger for this reaon

And the current setup has been in place for 11 years so I can’t see our defensive failings are going to improve tbh

Yes, losing a winger is definitely a mitigating factor.

But the ease with which Penrith rolled through the middle is a big problem.

And I agree - we won't be getting any better under BA. This is as good as he gets.

I would go after Bennett.

He is sitting waiting for someone to pick him up.

Even if it costs more. He is perfect for what we have atm really.

Wayne has an ego like all the great players he would love to have add to his legacy by matching Jack Gibson and breaking a premiership drought in Parramatta.

It would end any discussion about who is the greatest coach of all time as well. If he won us a comp like he did at the Dragons and broke there drought.

I'd love Bennett here.

Can't see it happening.

We should of gotten Bennett when Baldie was derping it up in 2018 and he was on the outer with the Donkey's. Instead we have stuck by this fraud for a further 6 years. Only at Parramatta where failure is continually rewarded.
