How the heck do the Panthers do it! Have stars but keep their Juniors and then bring them in when a star leaves!
They have lost a number of players but always have quality juniors coming thru.
I think Leinu will be hard to replace. We scored some pretty soft tries. Right through their middle.

To my knowledge, we have made approaches to each of the below sometime prior to the start of the 2024 pre-season (and since the end of the 2021 season):
- Staggs
- Best
- Lomax
- Sloan
- Kris
- Savage
- Talau
- Tupou
- Kelly

There may also be others, but these are the ones I am aware of and can remember.
So you are saying that the job of a recruitment team is not to actually assemble the squad, but to just know who the good players are?

Sorry but your very post illustrates why our recruitment is abjectly poor in this area. They have been unable to land a first grade three quarter since end of 2021 and many more than those you have listed have become available in that time.

all they could land was a barely mediocre Harper.

That's because we're trying to pay them what they're worth rather than what they want.

Must be coincidence that they can't have expensive forwards and expensive backs. Nothing to do with the salary cap.

Name them.

We are currently in seventh place and favourites against Manly next week. Go and change your knickers for a pair with less piss on them.
No one is pissing their knickers troll.

But people who have actually watched the game and followed this club can already see that the same deficiencies which have plagued us for many seasons are still there and have not been successfully addressed.

We can see that the exact same positions remain threadbare and the game plans and structures are as uninspired as they have always been.

But you wouldn’t know this as in truth you don’t follow this club - it merely serves as a vehicle for your life’s passion of internet trolling

I will say that three things are very obvious so far this season:

1. We could win the comp this year if just one or two things were tweaked and we strengthened our three quarters somehow;

2. Our coach doesn’t know what needs
Changing and our attacking structures on Friday night confirmed that;

3. Our coach has no idea what centres actually do and that’s evident from his leaving Kelma there for so long - when I read his quote in preseason about Kelma being cover out wide I cringed, but I thought he must have shown the coach something that wasn’t obvious at first glance - from the way he played in the centres, either the coach misread our three quarters yet again or first grade opposition proved far more challenging and ruthless than our nsw cup or flegg opposition at training….

I think that kelma was always the chosen replacement centre. I still recall ba saying he can be used like Marata... Umm. Maratas defense was awesome relatively.

And ba is probably a bit stubborn... Hes probably saying, he'll be right mate, he'll be right... As he likes to keep things simple

The other assistants are probably saying switch him its not working... But she'll be right mate.. Play the long game

Schooled by the opposition coaching staff. Chin snr said in the presser they kept going there knowing we had a 2nd rower defending in the centres etc.
Blind Freddy could see there was a problem. Half time was the opportunity to reset...nope...stupidity again of the highest. Taago would've been laughing his tits off knowing he was making 30+ metres almost every run.
Glaring and obvious amateurism from all the coaching staff.

But hey they tried!!

Let’s face it who really wants to come here to play under Bea Arthur?? 11 seasons and he still can’t rotate a bench, fix our edge defence or even replace a fat fringe grader in the centres after he’d let in about 1000 line breaks. Add in a board who refuse to do what’s necessary to win with a HOF who makes Nero look proactive. But long as us dopes keep turning up, buying memberships and buying merchandise nothing will change.

Maybe @Poupou Escobar is right we are a bunch of dumb merkins.

As long as we have stability mate!!

I mean we lose BA we could lose all this amazing success we’ve had over the last decade.

It was 18-16 Eels when Kelma made that hit then went off. I am not saying that Kelma was the greatest centre in the world, but you guys are rewriting history a bit. If anyone reads your take on Taago v Kelma you’d think it was 40 nil. I get it, you don’t like the coach, but FFS.

Tago had 6 f**king line breaks, it was the worst effort I’d seen in the centres since Soul Glo got destroyed by Talaki. Who is now here, who says Bea doesn’t have a type. The plodder the better.

If you’re going to play the stats game, it looks like the scramble tidied those line breaks up, cos we were leading at the point Kelma went off. Your turn.
