LOL at the idiots who think that their band-aid solution would have faired any better. Facts are that we were leading when Kelma went off. As much as you try and spin it, we were coping and in front. You can't deny that, so take your arguments to the I hate BA thread and leave it at that. Cos your position is transparent. You're entitled to it of course, but you guys are flogging a dead horse here.
If you freeze this post right here it screams “I’m a Cockweasel”.

Gotta say that there is a stark contrast bewteen the TCT instant reaction podcast and this forum.

They are ropeable over lost opportunities because of dumb ref decisions and run analysis of Kelma vs using Bryce or others (strengthening a weakness vs weakening a strength). Here, we lost ONLY because we have a shit coach.

Is it LOL at TCT or LOL at you lot ? I think we need a poll.

Refs are f**king horrendous...

Not even our game but the idiot Klein in the bunker. Ball is dragged into the Tigers player when contesting for the ball.

Ref on field gives it a try Klein looks at it in the bunker gives it the thumbs up....

Those comments from Cleary are interesting because there have been a couple of times in the past 2 years where the opposition have had a crippled player or a mid-game reshuffle on the edge and we haven't deviated from our game plan on match day.

Is it coaching or the players.

Prime example was Cam Munster had a broken thumb in round 1 last year and we barely ran at him in that 2nd half when he was clearly hampered by it.

Against the chooks last year when Teddy was knocked out they had to move a plodder in Drew Hutchinson whose lateral movement is a slow as a front row forward out into the centres they had move Suaalii to FB and Manu wasnt playing yet we barely targeted him.

A week later Melbourne played the Roosters and isolated Hutchinson about 6 or 7 times and scored 3 or 4 tries down that edge. It was almost a lesson on what we should have done a week earlier.
Exactly! This is what shits me most about BA and the team - the stubborn refusal to use their brains and adapt on the fly.

So options to replace Simmonson are Dunster, Talagi, Cini, Lumelume, Loizou or Asi.
Lumelume & Loizou are not top 30 so we'd need NRL approval to play them. Big no to Lumelume but don't know anything about Loizou but apparently scored 5 tries just recently.

All in the top 30:

Asi
Cini
Dunster
Harper
Penisini
Russell
Simonsson
Sivo
Talagi
Asi -shows promise but mainly a half
Cini - can't tackle (must be why signed to top 30)
Dunster - can't run (thanks brother in law)
Harper - meh
Penisini - getting better
Russell - getting better & fast
Simonsson - getting better & fast
Sivo - needs to increase workload
Talagi - learning fullback atm (set to replace Gutho sometime in the future?)

First time I’ve heard it. Winston was the man!
He was a joke and a bastard to Australia. Typical pom who just expected us to front up and help them but in our hour of need abandoned us. Case in point when troops returning from Egypt to help us fight Japanese, ships were diverted to Burma at Churchill's instructions without any communication to us. Despite Curtain appealing to him he refused to turn ships around. Believe were in US ships and Curtain appealed to Roosevelt who changed their course back to Australia.

Churchill also thought he was a great strategist and Gallipoli and the Italian campaign (WW2) where both his disasters amongst others.

No one is pissing their knickers troll.

But people who have actually watched the game and followed this club can already see that the same deficiencies which have plagued us for many seasons are still there and have not been successfully addressed.

We can see that the exact same positions remain threadbare and the game plans and structures are as uninspired as they have always been.

But you wouldn’t know this as in truth you don’t follow this club - it merely serves as a vehicle for your life’s passion of internet trolling
We had two starting outside backs missing on the weekend, including one lost mid game. Any club would struggle to cover that. But of course it’s an excuse to put shit on the club.

It was 18-16 Eels when Kelma made that hit then went off. I am not saying that Kelma was the greatest centre in the world, but you guys are rewriting history a bit. If anyone reads your take on Taago v Kelma you’d think it was 40 nil. I get it, you don’t like the coach, but FFS.

That'll do me. We now have Pou's brother defending BA's decision to leave Kelma there when all their breaks were down our left side. Why wasn't Hands, who got no time, put there? Can tackle and is faster or why wasn't Dyl going to centre in D with Kelma moving towards middle? Both those would have been better and not involved much brain power. Even I could see it during match so why didn't BA?

That’ll do me, you’ve been done about 40 times this week.

If you’re going to play the stats game, it looks like the scramble tidied those line breaks up, cos we were leading at the point Kelma went off. Your turn.
Pou jnr, do you think the constant scramble to cover those breaks might have lead to our fatigue so we were hopeless in the second half in attack? Dropped balls and mistakes are symptoms of fatigue.

Anyway moving Drown to centre improves the chances of stopping line breaks occurring but means if they do then Gutho is completely at their mercy (no Drown in cover). But I agree there should have been a rethink at halftime, probably switching Cartwright and Tuilagi being the lesser of two evils.
It wasn’t as bad as people are making out but it certainly gave Smugs an easy pressure relief so that we just couldn’t get a rhythm.

Schooled by the opposition coaching staff. Chin snr said in the presser they kept going there knowing we had a 2nd rower defending in the centres etc.
Blind Freddy could see there was a problem. Half time was the opportunity to reset...nope...stupidity again of the highest. Taago would've been laughing his tits off knowing he was making 30+ metres almost every run.
Glaring and obvious amateurism from all the coaching staff.
But BAs a good bloke
We were winning until Tuilagi got hurt.
