Well, he'll cost a total of $800k for the 2024 salary cap year across whoever is prepared to bear it. If he stayed at the Dragons and agreed to a pay cut this year in return for a release, he'd still be assessed at $800k for the current year, and that's how it should be. He won't cost us $800k on the cap even if we take over his whole salary because 5 months of the year has already passed and he has been paid in full by the Dragons. So the most we could cop would be 7/12 of $800k p.a.
