The one thing we know BA is good at is improving individuals defensively - Moses, Cartwright to name a couple.
Didn't see last nites horror show and won't be looking at the score but what has happened to our defence????? Moses gone for half the season and our attack revolves around him (maybe too much by the look of our piss poor attack) but apparently our defence does also. There is no reason our defence is suddenly so brittle so what else is going on?

I know Blaize is poor defensively and needs to go back to cup (where whole team poor after 60 mins) and Asi promoted, he will help DB with attack and not so poor defensively, but the whole team needs to have a good look at themselves. Maybe BA needs a sticky blow up moment and then maybe team will respond in a positive manner. This is up to YOU BA, your job is on the line and poor selections like Blaize, lack of backline players for 3 years now, changing a winning strategy and lack of mental fortitude are ALL on you!

where’s our CEO. What’s his name again? You know The guy with no actual experience to run a club but was hired anyway. Where is that bloke?
What an absolute rabble out management are. They don’t know what they are doing!
It’s alright. He sent an email at the end of last season telling us we beat Penrith.

What do you want him to do?
(I'm not saying he's good or bad - just curious as to why he warrants the rage)

For me, that dudes job is to make lots of $$, and spend lots of $$, and hold others accountable on the footy side of things.
He is making lots of $$ (tick)
I have no idea on the accountability side of things? We made a GF in 2022, so it's not unreasonable that Arthur is still in charge. However, one might also expect (after the debacle of last year) that there is a very clear expectation set for this year. If we don't comfortably make the 8, and nothing changes, then I think it's pretty clear the CEO has missed a trick.

But truly, what we want is a CEO who oversees the business, makes sure we are profitable (and with ever increasing revenues), and stays out of the football managers play-space. This is on MON and BA (currently).

I feel like an apologist now (I'm not!) - but do you think the CEO of a company with 10s of millions in income writes that stuff?
Generally speaking, a CEO stands on the platform and delivers the messages they have been given by those underneath. They want to make those messages positive on what has been delivered, and future focused on how there will be more good, and better coming. Their job is more about steering the overall system than crafting individual messages. If you had to guess who had presented the Penrith win as their take-away message for the year, who would you say?

If he didn’t write it, then he’s signed off on it.

I saw Barnesy play many times. An ok fullback but not in the same class as Thornett or Johns. That said, boy he was one hell of a goal kicker back in the days of water absorbing leather footballs. As a kid I recall a match at the old Sydney Sports Ground. Barnes was lining up a sideline conversion and I was hanging over the fence screaming at him that he couldnt kick his grandmother out of bed. He casually booted the ball between the posts.
RIP Golden Boots.
