If a player has a Contract, he is entitled to get paid the full amount of the Contract and typically the two clubs bargain over who is paying what share of the Contract amount.
No, If the player and club agree to terminate the contract early they are entitled to do so under whichever terms they agree on. This might involve a payout, in the case of a club wanting to terminate a player who otherwise wants to stay.

But there is no requirement for the new contract at the gaining club to match the old one. What usually happens though is a player gets pushed out, the gaining club offers most of the value of the old contract and the unwanted player demands the difference from the former club as a payout. Because he doesn’t want to be out of pocket, not because it’s a rule.

This ‘market value rule’ is a separate thing to prevent clubs circumventing the cap by stupid amounts. These two things are being conflated in the media to stir up fans and generate ad revenue.

In a circumstance like Matterson where he wants out but the Club ostensibly wants to keep him, then the new club either pays full freight or the player cops a pay cut (can you guess which way with Matto?).

In a circumstance like Schuster we he wants to stay but Manly want him gone, Manly are going to have to pay some of the freight.

Which of the two examples that I gave included both the player and the club agreeing? If both parties to a contract agree they can do what they want. What does that have to do with Schuster?

oh a payout? From the club that the player is leaving? kinda like "typically the two clubs bargain over who is paying what share of the Contract amount"

But there is no requirement for the new contract at the gaining club to match the old one.
Where did I say there was?

Well there is the whole Contract Law, the courts, potential fines thing, but yes other than RLPA requirements, NRL Contracts, State Laws, Federal Laws, NSW Ombudsman and Fair Work Australia, there are no laws requiring an employee receive the full benefits of their Contract.

Where did I mention market value?

You are going to need a lot more straw......

nah... ppl think he is playing 4d chess but he is trying to be as simple as possible.

Like sticking Carty in the team list but he's not playing so Cowwies coach wont make plans attackking our right edge.

Also, his bench rotations might confuse the opposition coach, but actually, he forgot about the bench rotations

No I see you’re saying the same thing. It was just your wording about sharing the existing contract that triggered me. When a contract is terminated it is over. The clubs only ‘share’ the new terms if the player refuses to take a pay cut.
