It was two in a quarter. The first try was his fault as well. He can't tackle and makes bad decisions. The dogs are just good at covering for him. Much like the dragons did for Soward.
Are the Dogs good at hiding him or is he getting isolated in this game? I'm not watching but it doesn't sound like the Captain Cooks are working very hard in defence.

There are very few halves who aren't liabilities when they get isolated.

He's rushing up and in, as he does at the dogs. I reckon they use this structure because he can't tackle for shit and so by him rushing in he has to make far less tackles. They rely on good defending centres to cover what happens after the ball goes passed him.

In this game it looks like he's rushing up and in to avoid genuine tackles.

Yeah don't get it because you don't see that a Hookers main role is defence.

He's lauded as an Origin-level hooker, yet he never runs the ball.

Then people whinge that De Gois never engages markers, and that Peats isn't dangerous enough out of dummy-half (Peats has been very good, btw).

But whatever - I bow to your superior knowledge, blah blah blah.

How often does Cameron Smith actually run the ball?

You don't get it because you obviously don't see that a Hookers main role is defence.
In our team, yes. But that's because of the quality of our hookers. But I'd say a hookers attack is equally as important as their defence.

If your assertion were true, we'd be playing an extra middle forward as the hooker.

I see what you are saying Eele, but in Friends' first sting his team was doing a lot of defending and didn't have much of a chance for much attacking.

This is true.

And in fairness to him, I didn't factor in his defensive workload.

I just find it curious that a player who is widely considered unlucky to not be playing for Queensland rarely threatens the markers, while other hookers play in a similar vein, but are highly scrutinised for it.

I dont know where 0 runs came from anyway ... he ran to the line and passed at least once just before he came off
